Probably, if you live in the state where they are located or the state has a reciprocal tax agreement with your home state.

Suncoast didn’t, they’re in Florida. I’m in Ohio. Last I ordered was 2020.

They did charge CA tax. Which was a bummer but what can you do.

^ if it's a "market place" online they are required to charge tax.
but if you buy from "parts dept" out of state, you shouldn't be taxed.
it's a fine line.

Having just went through sending off a lot of dollars to various states, I've been forced to learn the ropes. Sales tax "nexus" varies from state to state. If somebody from Florida buys from my company in California, I don't have to charge sales tax. I'm sure Florida will change that soon. Selling and shipping from Florida to California? Yes. California wants the money. Who woulda thunk.

Each state is different. To reach nexus varies from state to state usually by dollars of business that the seller ships into that state. Some states that amount is pretty low, in other states it could be $250k, or higher. It can also be triggered by having employees in that state, attending trade shows, or internet advertising.

But they are not messing around with this stuff and as a business owner if you don't get a tax permit for that state when you are supposed to, and don't collect and remit the tax, they will first hit you with a penalty usually of 25% or more and charge a hefty interest.
