Clutch Job takes how long?
Hey gang. I was going through options for work on my car to get it as fresh as I can (fluids, brake pads, the usual) and a discussion about a clutch job came up - it was a tangent, not something I'm doing imminently - and I was quoted 16 hours to do that whole job. Is that how long it takes to replace the clutch on a GT3? I remember doing it on my Z06 and M3 in about 4 hours. Does the GT3 require an engine drop for that?
Thanks!
Thanks!

No engine drop.. just tranny drop.. a properly equipped shop should do it in a regular work day.
By the way, I did mine at a reputable place with the total cost of about $2500, with a good half of the cost in parts. @16 hours you are looking at 2+K of just labor.. that kinda does not make sense.

If you're able to supply your own parts, you can save about $1k going through Suncoast.

I like the shop I go to and I trust them. But, 16 hours seemed 3 times longer than I thought.

I believe the service department at many dealers are becoming increasingly brazen in the current times and are charging outrageous sums for maintenance work. For my peace of mind, I have always used the dealer for maintenance despite many recommendations to the contrary. I will cease using a Porsche dealer on a go forward basis for out of warranty vehicles.
