Reading about the Guard unit and came across your review on 6speedonline. Great review

I’m keen to see just where the axle broke and the break itself. I assume at the trans CV end.

I think Guard only sells them to approved installers/shops. Matt just shipped me a new Guard GT2 Pro that he set up with 40/60 ramps and a Cup style preload for our application. They do have them in stock right now as far as I know. Tell Matt how you'd like it set up for your use and he will take care of it. Superb service, superb product...

John..

I will contact Matt, thanks. Today will attempt to get the car on my 4 post lift which is no small task when pushing the car uphill. Once on there I will take pics of the damage and remove the diff. Appreciate the comments. Great opportunity to learn about my car too

**UPDATE WITH PICS**

Put the car up on the lift to get a better look. Surprised to find the axle itself didn't break. The bolts backed out. My guess is poor reinstallation by the shop that did the mods (clutch, turbos, etc etc). The axle was damaged but it doesn't appear that the axle itself was the culprit. Nonetheless, replacement axles arriving Friday and while I'm in there going to do the Guard LSD

Shop manual says they're not supposed to be greased when installed/torqued down. Maybe the shop greased them and maybe didn't even torque them...

Will remember not to grease it when installing the new axles. Glad I purchased both rear axles with new hardware!

The GT2 is a 2008 model. In addition to the new axles I received a new joint flange, new pan head screws, torx screws, trans main plug, lock nuts etc. List of parts in the pic below. While I'm at it I'm going to do plugs, coils, belt

Hopefully the GT2 spark plugs still exist, the Y5DDC plugs for GT3s are now extinct!
