Yup, I thought about it and didn't want the look of a tax dodger when I'm out and about on the road so paid the $21,500 last week. I have no issues with the CHP setting up that website as you can't get mad at the CHP. It's the law that needs to be changed. I mean if I buy this car and sell it, and then the new buyer sells it and so on and so on, the tax collected can exceed the price of the car indefinitely. Collect tax once on the vehicle when it's new and call it a day. We need to get that law changed!
Apologies to the OP. Sorry for taking this thread off topic. No more Montana plate, tax, or political talk.

We have a new law here stating that if your car is too loud, you get a $1,000 fix it ticket. Before this law, if you were caught with an exhaust that was too loud, you would get. a ticket, head home to remove the exhaust, head to the local CHP office and have it signed off then send that to the courts and only pay a $25 administrative fee. A few years back, the new law kicked in and it's:
Get pulled over for loud exhaust
Get ticket
go home and remove loud exhaust
go to CHP and get it signed off
Show that correction to the court
Pay the court $1,000.
There is no dismissing the fine any longer.
I have to say, I'm for it. We have all these Dodge guys running around here with the loudest cars and it's annoying. I was in Santa Monica a few months back eating at an outdoor restaurant. 2 M5's pulled out of the parking structure and began revving their straight piped M5's on a small street, with tall buildings on both sides. People wanted to throw a brick through their windshields. It was incredibly disruptive and on the border of being inhumane. The piercing sound of their engine was enough to deafen anyone.
On that note if anyone want's to swap a GT3RS center for a Sharkwekrs Center delete, pm me as I want to go back to stock. I love the way the Sharkwerks sounds but not as much as my Brombacher full system or even the Stock with sport button on. Both of the latters sound more refined, which is what I prefer.

California did not ban the MT 992 GT3, the drive by noise level certification test hasn’t changed for decades. The 991.2 MT GT3 passes that test. Porsche engineered the 992 MT GT3 knowing it would not pass the existing regulations, but hoping California would update/modify the test before it went on sale. Porsche lost that bet.

Yeah, and the Dodge boys don’t like being out done. Obnoxious as well.
Real loud is for race tracks and many tracks have decibel limits at that.
However, I can’t imagine a stick 992 GT3 would be that loud.
I also agree the stock 997RS sport exhaust sounds best. Just right. Refined is a perfect description. I am leaving my RS factory stock. I do toy with putting in yellow belts and a roll bar.

Re taxes, AZ charges (assuming this hasn’t changed since I moved out of state) tax on new and used cars from dealers but for used, only dealer sold. Seems reasonable.
