Default GT2 / 997.1 Turbo exhaust

Hi,
Is there any difference between 997.1 Turbo and 997 GT2 exhaust beyond the tailpipes?

This is regarding fitment more than diameter and details.

I have a full Akrapovic exhaust from a GT2 and I'm planning to use it in a 997.1 Turbo

You're correct - the only difference appears to be the tips from the quick look I did at the two parts diagrams for 997.1 GT2 and 997.2 GT2RS.

He is asking about 997.1 turbo and 977 GT2 exhaust differences.....I think they are quite different, maybe best ask a manufacturer eg Europipe or Fabspeed, they will be able to tell you.

the systems are different however the turbo outlets and exhaust tips are in the same places in both cars so I believe you could remove the entire 997.1 turbo exhaust system as a unit and drop in an entire GT2 system if you were so inclined as that sounds like what OP is looking to do.

If that’s the case, yes, different.

To start with, center muffler is different. I’d have to go through the diagrams again to figure out all differences.

Looking at the diagrams there is difference beyond the obvious part number change.

Still, I think I'll try to use an Akrapovic GT2 exhaust on a 997.1 Turbo to see how it goes. Trying to use stock 997.1 turbo tips

FWIW, the OEM GT2 exhaust was an Akrapovic and it was absolutely quiet and anemic. If you are installing the aftermarket Akrapovic then OK, otherwise, you are completely wasting your time if sound improvement is your goal. OEM GT2 exhaust is as quiet as the OEM 997TT exhaust. (I have owned all these cars, a 997.1TT (new - 2012) and I installed Tubi on it which I would also not recommend, and I installed an aftermarket Akrapovic on my 2008 GT2 (new) which was way too loud and obnoxious to me...) Just my advise.

EP 1 or 2 seems to work the best for 997TT.

I do know about what you mentioned. It is a full Akrapovic aftermarket exhaust, including headers

Best of luck, I had the similar set up less the headers.
