Just installed an RSS center bypass on my GT3. All I can say is WOW!!!! The sound is so intoxicating. Noticeably louder in regular mode and spectacular in sport mode. Can’t rave enough about it. Great fit and finish and the tips are a perfect look and size.
Glad you're enjoying it! I've heard good things about that exhaust. Amazing what a center muffler bypass and a couple hours of labor does to the sound of the car.
I've actually never owned any GT3s without a Sharkwerks already put on - wish I knew what a stock car sounded like
are the center bypass units really different compared to each other?
From what people have told me that have heard both, GMG has a bit deeper and louder of a note than the Sharkwerks. My car came with Sharkwerks when I bought it.
I have valved side bypasses and FVD center-when I first decided to do the setup I thought it would be too loud, but it's an excellent setup .
Close the valves for the neighbors, open up at will with the Carnewal remote valve actuator.
Valvetronic also makes one: https://valvetronic.com/collections/...lve-controller
Also, I've read a lot of posts where so called "experts" claimed that a cross over design, where gasses from both banks mixed before exiting, was not good on a boxer engine and interfered with proper exhaust scavenging. Well, to my surprise, when I took off the factory exhaust I saw that it is also a cross over design, so there goes that theory.
I have the same setup, it truly is an incredible sound. At 7K inside a tunnel feels like the walls outside will start to collapse. I also have a valve bypass to allow basically a straight out even in the mid range RPMs.
Quality is superb. The ceramic black coating on the tips is perfect so is alignment of the exit pipes inside the bumper cutout.. I am guessing this requires adjustment during install but if done right it looks factory to me.

The x-design is used in many other cars and has proven to actually help as oppose to impede and as you said the factory might even have that setup. Removing the center with the bypass already does a great deal to reduce back-pressure so the x-piping in my view does not add or subtract anything of substance. The key is that the pipe diameter is equally maintained throughout which is the mort important thing to maintain the velocity stack for gases. This a lot like that old debate around "back-pressure is good" .. that is a nonsense statement, the proper diameter is what produces some back-pressure in favor for maintaining velocity, it is necessary evil as oppose to absolute good.
agreed ... & there are also the wave pulses (fore & aft / push & suction) that affect the power .... & the sound (such as the conical "crack" pipe designs)
GlenGT3, glad to hear you love it!! ... I was also a person who lived with my stock exhaust for almost a year, before I swapped into a SW bypass. So yea, I enjoyed the progression too...
I know this has been posted before here on RL,... but still a good conversation (Matt & Jamie) to reference.... (not all about exhaust,.. also includes plenum info etc...)
RSS does make quality products, their suspension products are great as well. If anyones interested in RSS products, let us know we are a dealer!
