997.2 GT3 spark plug choices?

Unfortunately still not certain what caused the failure.
It's also relevant that this happened in a Sharkwerks 3.9L engine build. They specify a shorter replacement interval for plugs, only 2,000 miles, so perhaps the additional stress they are subjected to vs. OEM setup was also a contributor.

you can also get green stripe bosch from FVD $42 each.
I took a picture of the Bosch when removed. Next to NGK. We”ll see how it performs longer term.

side note to report here (response to a number of posts back),... a week or so ago, I called my local BMW parts dept, and they looked for the Bimmer version of these Bosch Y5DDC (12129065004 which were used on the E36 M3's), and they said there are zero quantity of those plugs in any of the BMW warehouses within the CONUS.
He did also add that if he could sell them, they would be $19.99 each.

So I've got 5 y5ddc plugs, looking for one more. What Bosch plug are we supposed to move to if the y5ddc is discontinued?

There is no Bosch anymore
I do think if you need just one, rock auto has only one Y5DDC in stock-
The only dual ground electrode one available is the NGK I listed
On the other maintenance/spark plug thread discussion I posted details on the Brisk plugs after extensive searching.
I contacted them since they make so many different ones. I posted details on the other recent Y5DDC thread.
Here's their site:

But, the NGK is the best choice in my opinion. Some sites are listing a Denso plug, I would avoid it-

It was a 2010 build, ~10 years and ~23k miles on it. Planning to share more on the back story and rebuild (now underway), but will do so in a separate thread.
Seconded, though it's unlikely I'll ever be 100% sure of the cause of the failure, I won't use be using them again.

I was in a similar boat - vendor sent me 5 blue bosch and 1 green bosch, but I still installed them, they are the same part, just different looks.

Hi gents, appreciate all the insight! Looked up the plugs for my 2010 gt3 and sunset shows p/n: 999-170-130-90
https://www.sunsetporscheparts.com/o...ug-99917013090
I’ll call and ask if they can send a pic perhaps; don’t want to order the wrong thing!
cheers.

if you want to go budget route I’m pretty sure there are enough Y5DDC around now to buy a few here and a few there to get 6.

Some of the popular parts suppliers online like FCP and Autohaus are not listing the NGK, they have a Denso plug listed. At this point, the best and only choice in my opinion is the NGK, and they even make a Platinum version-
