Best insurance carrier for agreed upon value
Hello!
I am looking for suggestions on what insurance company I should use for a car that will be driven lightly (less then 1k/year). Do you guys have any suggestions for insurance company that will do agreed upon value?
Also, if I register car in one state but plan to store in another state, I assume I should tell that to the insurance company rite?

For me? Grundy all the way. No mileage limitations, no deductible and lets you use the car for car events to include cars and coffee, shows, pleasure drives and even a “show and tell”, where you can drive your car once in a while to work to show your co-workers you car.

I used Grundy for my 996 Turbo. They will request that you drive another car as a daily driver and will supposedly not cover you if you drive your GT car to work, even if it is occasional. This made me uncomfortable as I like to drive my Porsches to work every now and then.
I switched to StateFarm for my GT3 with a 2,500 miles/year limit. The rate was pretty similar to Grundy and I can drive it wherever I want (note that we have all our other cars/bike and house insured with them). However, it is not agreed upon value...

I’m paying around $1100 a year for a full cover $100k agreed value. 300/300/300 and zero deductible. No miles restriction. I do have another car registered to me and the cars are garaged.

Can you do this and include DE insurance?

I use an agent to manage all of our insurance. Around 10 years ago, we went with Hagerty, through the agent (at the time that was their only offering, but turned out to be a great choice for us). We have 10+ vehicles with them. Just insured a .2 RS for 190k for around $1100 for the year. No mileage restrictions, very simple. Only notable item, the premium is due in full when the insurance period starts.

This, you basically pay them the money, and they take care of you god forbid...

I use Hagerty on a classic, had it appraised and they agreed to value and the following year they called me to let me know the value on that model had increased. Never had a claim but have read others report they are very good.

I have Liberty Mutual for all my cars. The premium on the GT3 is $135 per year. 1,000 miles is my limit. 4 Cars insured with them. 2008 RS4 is about $250 per year. Also 1,000 mile limit.

Grundy has consistently given lower premiums than Hagerty in my case with my older BMWs that I no longer have. The latest quote I got from Hagerty for the gt3 was downright garbage compare to Liberty Mutual. With my '72 and '91 BMWs the Grundy premiums were really low. Sadly I got to test out Grundy in "accident mode" also and they were downright GREAT.. Fast processing, got everything from them as agreed without drama. As soon as my GT3 gets old enough for Grundy to underwrite it as a classic I will join them.
