The RSS is a crossover, x-pipe design, so the pulses mix together at the exit giving it a higher pitch sound versus the sharkwerks.

Upscale Audio, that's the one I have. Rhonda from FVD usually gives rennlisters a discount, so maybe she will. Because I noticed the price went up about $200(probably the dollar exchange since it's German)
You can use the stock tips, but the bolts holding the tips on the OEM center don't come off so you will need to get the nuts bolts and lock washers from a hardware store to mount the tips.

And the FVD/M&M mated perfectly to the Soul valved side deletes. The OEM straps hold the center bypass in place

But the link I posted from Scott at Softronic has some interesting points about connecting or not connecting both sides. It's at the beginning of this thread along with the GT3R pics and some RSR videos. I think only M&M and Sharkwerks don't connect, and Cargraphic's center does in the upper section only from what it seems this one has small mufflers if you want to go along with valved side deletes. But in my opinion the small mufflers should be on the small upper pipes instead, like the JCR silenced center delete-
So there are some lesser known center deletes, and quite a few more to choose from-

They also make an X pipe:

And this one:

And JCR has a lightweight center with silencers but I couldn't get a pic

At first I thought my straight pipe setup was gonna be too loud, but I'm really happy with it. The turbo guys with the exploding pop corn tunes freak out when they hear it

So a good example of loud straight setup is the rallye videos I posted and the RSR on track-

I was a little lost on the points made. Having a center connect may have a down side in absolute terms in performance? I suspect hardly noticeable but in ABSOLUTE terms? Not a big deal to me I suspect. I like the idea of the V10 sound of the RSS but ......

Also mentioned was the potential for RMS leak. I didn't understand the potential cause of it. Mounting or resonance from connecting both sides?

MJ Speed can elaborate on this.

I really don't think any exhaust setup could possibly cause RMS leaks. I seem to recall even PCNA advised not letting cars sit un driven for long, and that it could cause rms leaks.
The RSR, GT3R and Supercup exhausts are pretty much straight pipes and some without cats.
Sharkwers also has a track pipe which has no valves, separate, like the GT3R pic I posted and the Supercup setup from Porsche Motorsports-
So there are quite a few companies making a variety of systems. On some of those rallye videos you can sort of get a glimpse of some of the exhausts but I searched for years for specific ones and couldn't get any concrete info, they're a bit secretive I suppose.

But a while back I think it was disclosed Olaf Dobberkau used an M&M system, and they have quite a few to choose from or custom made:

I didn't think so either. In fact use to laugh when I heard the dealers denying RMS fixes when they saw center deletes on the cars. I has my car stock, no leak, then center delete and a leak developed. Then M&M system and the leak vanished, never to return. Car driven no more or less than it's ever had. Oil remained the same Motul since day 1.

I'm not stating one way of the other. Just putting out some facts about my car.

Not sure I follow the related thread from Scott. Is he saying that crossover is bad, unless the pipes meet near the exit (like the RSS) or that any crossover is bad?

My crossover is nowhere near the end any longer. It's smack dab in the middle and pulls like freight train now.

Is it similar with the SW system?

Thanks!
Yes, very similar with the Sharkwerks system. Really any of the center muffler bypasses will give you that. Each may sound very slightly different.
