Vacuum pumps
Since this forum could use a little help in the new thread department, I'm starting this one about the vacuum system in the GT3. This all started with the vacuum pump in the classifieds and the thread Powerhound created years ago about the same subject.
I'm about to go into the garage and work on the car since it's up in the air. I've never took a look at my vacuum system but will look in a few minutes to get a better understanding of what is going on down there.
Questions I'm looking to find answers to:
Is there a difference between the .1 and the .2 vacuum system?
How does the current vacuum pump on the .1's work if they are different?
I then came upon this thread which was interesting, especially with the "Remove the crankcase oil drain plug" with the engine running part. Felt like trying it but with someone else's car. lol. Was also enlightened with the RMS and now understand why it would leak when the car isn't driven. Interesting stuff and now I can understand why my aftermarket exhaust has solved my RMS leak.
Not into getting into debates or arguments, just exchanging information between members.
Porsche Oil Scavenging Systems
I'm headed to the garage to start exploring, while I change the coolant, brake fluid and oil. Be back in a bit.

Just took a pic of my pump and it looks the same as this one in the classifieds. Is there a difference?

Thanks for that article. Really good information that I never thought about/knew.
The M97.76 engine in the .1 seems to have a different part number for the pumps than the .2 engine.
.1 (part 1 and 2):

.2 (part 33):

The .1 and .2 pumps are completely different and not interchangeable....
