I noticed the video freezes at 36 and half minutes. It does so for a minute and a half. Here is another video of the episode. The narration is slightly different and the video quality isn’t as good.

Great video, so much to comment on, thanks for sharing!

His summary at the end, summarizing the 997generation was spot on, especially regarding the steering.

I will add my $.02 on his observations of the tires...Cup2 tires feel completely different than PS4S on these cars IMO -- rougher ride / not as good in wet, but the car feels so much more planted in corners, it almost feels like a different chassis, more so than other cars I have owned.

That point in the video 14:20 where he is behind the dump-truck going very slow, but playing with the shifter is what I have attempted to describe to other drivers, even going slow, I can have fun doing just what he was doing, playing with the amazing shifter and trying to hit your rev-match that is the beauty of this car, it can be fun stuck behind a dump-truck.

Kudos to the owners for allowing him to drive/film their cars

Wow that vid was a treat to watch and listen to, thank you! All spectacular cars.

With the doubling of price between each, the GT3 seems even more of an amazing value

It’s interesting he thinks the 4.0 is a bit twitchier than the 3.8 but he also didn’t like the drive style with the sport button on. As I drop the 4.0 suspension in this RS I’m curious if I’ll notice since I’m running sport mode all the time or if I notice much at all…

Recently I did notice going from numeric back to stock I’m missing my revmatches from pulling the shifter too far left.

Pretty awesome video and props to him for setting up this comparison. His complaint about the Ohlins being too soft on the .1 was a little funny, not sure if he realizes they're adjustable. Curious what they were set at on the car he drove.

according to porsche, torque increases to 465 ft/lbs in sport mode. (up from 430]. i always drive in sport mode too.

911 (997 II) GT3 RS, 2009: nothing but the truth

The 911 GT3 RS, introduced in 2009, continued the series of uncompromisingly dynamic 911 derivatives. It was based on the upgraded 997 series and now possessed a 3.8-litre six-cylinder boxer. With 450 PS instead of 435 PS, for the first time the naturally aspirated engine was stronger than the 911 GT3, and with a specific output of 118 PS/litre it once again set new standards for series production cars. The engine could rev up to 8,500 rpm. A sport button in the centre console increased the torque in the middle range by 35 Nm to up to 465 Nm. In favour of transverse dynamics, the track of the GT3 RS was also widened at the front axle, in addition to a large brake system with aluminium brake chambers and a specifically tuned PASM chassis. Porsche adapted the PSM vehicle stability system accordingly: its independent control algorithm, which can be switched off in two stages, was developed for use on racetracks. Lightweight components such as the titanium rear silencer and a single-mass flywheel, which is 1.4 kg lighter, reduced the unladen weight by 25 kg to 1,370 kg compared to the narrower 911 GT3. The optional lithium-ion battery saved an additional 10 kg; it can replace the heavy lead battery during racetrack operation. It demonstrated its potential on the racetrack at the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring in 2010: a series model survived the Eifel marathon with no problems and reached the goal sensationally in 13th place overall – including arrival to and departure from on the route via public roads.

Any guesses why there wasn’t a 997.1 GT3 RS in the review?

Probably because they simply couldn’t get one. The guy who has the .2 RS 3.8 also owns the .1 GT3. Difficult to get three rare cars together at the same time considering owners may not be available or they just don’t want to lend it out.
