Default Looking for opinion on 997.2 RS

Looking at this RS. Is it fairly priced? Seems very high to me but don’t know the market.

Thoughts appreciated.

Seems pricey to me. It's not a common color combo. If it's clean, then I'd guess the current market is around $180k.

Car has been for sale a few times in the last six months. Was for sale at Hoffman Porsche for a couple months at $190k and they had a hard time selling it. Isringhausen got it from Hoffman and had it listed for $205k and then disappeared after about a month (presumed it sold). Car is now back up for sale at Isringhausen 2 months since leaving there. Car is worth IMO $190k tops, probably more like $185k. I might be way off.

BTW, the decal on the right side of the car is missing one of the squares for the checkered flag and IMO needs to be replaced. Possibly take into account the cost of the decal and the cost of replacing any PPF you have to replace. Maybe this flaw bothers just me.

Their price is high. Then again, I'd say most of Isringhausen's prices are high that I've seen.

If you're not subscribed to Switchcars' GT Vault, I would recommend doing so. They just got in 2 new 7.2RS. Both priced significantly less.

That's a tough one. I'd love to add a 991 RS, but only after a 997 4.0 and a 997 3.6...

It's high as others have said. Very typical of Isringhausen, always 10% higher than the norm and they have no problem sitting on cars as long as the need to get their money. That said, they are a very high quality dealer with a race team and their cars are always represent extremely well. I'd say 180-185K as well. Cool color combo if want the classy RS vibe.

Side note, Doug over at GT Vault (Switchcars) has a whole mess of great GT cars right now GT3's and RS's. He has 2 really nice 7.2 RS's for sale right now. A grey/black and a white/red. Both are really really clean. The grey black is almost showroom clean and the white red is almost as good. I have purchased 2 7.2 RS's from him and have no problem putting in a plug for him!

What are you using the car for? Track days? Around town? Backroads? Cars and Coffee?

If track days or around town, or you want the best performance 991.

If backroads or most engagement/best street car, I’d say 997.

Cars and coffee, either will work, but 991 will probably get more attention.

Either way you can’t go wrong, but I’d have a hard time saying that you wouldn’t enjoy a 997GT car if you really want to be involved in every input of the driving experience.

Both are amazing cars.

Guys: thanks for all the input.

What’s also making it a tough move is I have an “analog” Porsche already.

Tough decision.😣

As the owner of a Carrara White/Weissach Gold GT3 RS I'm horribly biased but I think the color combo is truly epic, and as others mentioned you just don't see it commonly. I think quite a few owners altered the gold to other colors and decal deleted theirs over the years too, meaning it's even rarer than you'd think. Although I'm not a true master of valuation, I'd think that ~$185k feels about right.

In terms of the 991 versus 997, unless you're living on track or need it to commute with on a fairly regular basis, the 997 is such a special sweet spot, and would accompany your 987 quite well. But, I can see it would be hard to let go of a 991 that you love of course. Best wishes!

I'd agree on the color combo - it doesn't get a lot better IMO.

However, that car is over-priced and I'm not sure they'd come down to what we all seems to feel is a realistic number...

Good luck!
