997.2 GT2RS .. is it worth it?
I was hoping to get some insights on current/previous owners of a 997.2 GT2RS. I've owned a semi modded 997.1 GT2 and it was quite glorious. It was a big mistake selling it but things happen and we move on. I just picked up one of my of forever P cars (2011 GT3RS) and have an opportunity to add a 997.2 GT2RS but wondering if it's that much better than a 997.1 GT2 is it more for the rarity sakes?
I found a pretty pristine 997.1 GT2 in the 190s range but the RS is around the 330s.

+1 on that!
Isn't it a bit too close to your GT3? Maybe you are a 997 collector then disregard what I'm saying. Otherwise, with your budget, you can get really awesome aircooled turbos: 930, 964T, 993TT which would give you a totally different experience to the 997 GT3.

I think it is, esp now that it is a 3xx car instead of a 4xx+ car. I think a lot will disagree with me but just my opinion. I don’t own either anymore. But if I went after one at current values, it would be the 2rs.

rarity? The GT2 RS is not so much rarer:

All time great 3 pedal GT car. EVO magazine says best car over the first 200 issues. Drivers are 150K Queens are 200K and every where in between! If this is the genre you are looking for (a fast rarish 3 pedal car) I think it's the only car to buy. Not cheap though...

LOL...you came here on this forum to ask US if we think it's a good idea to add a 997.2 GT2 RS?
You may as well have gone to the Vatican and asked the Pope himself if it would be a good idea to become a Roman Catholic!
BTW...I'm aware of a silver one offered right now at $270k (I think). The deal seems insane, but I don't know all details.

It WILL make you want to feel that WHOOSH of torque when the turbos kick in and that CAN drive you to driving stupid on streets. Outside of that, I have very few complaints and lots of accolades about the 9-2rs. I’m not crazy about the exposed carbon hood but that’s totally personal preference. Man, it is an incredibly fun car to own and feels incredibly nimble for the torque-monster it is.

Do have something in mind Gt2 rs are getting harder to move and they will only get harder, despite the manual box, there isn't really much going for it in these times.
If I were you I would give the 996 gt2 a shot and a look, that is a brilliant car, do the toe links, proper ohlins or even the exetc setup, good tires and enjoy the experience. The 996 gt2 for some reason feels and takes you back to the 993 and air cooled, thr 997 was when the umbilical cord was totally cut. The 996 has a suppleness and such a nice interactive chassis, the controls are beautiful, the steering, the gearbox so much nicer than in the 997, less of a brute that needs a bit of wrestling, and more of playful interactive thing.
