I'll be the first to call dibs on the seats in that 997.1 GT3 if you find them uncomfortable and they are not the size small seats. Those are basically impossible to get in the US, unless you want to pay $15-20k+.

If anything I think that makes it an even easier choice to go for the .1

Assuming the .1 is as described its a no brainer. They are 90% the same car. You might miss a bit of torque from the 3.8 and Porsche worked out some of the handling niggles, but the .1 engine has more character, the suspension can be updated for a fraction of the difference and (to me) the .1 is the prettier of the two. Plus you get 5 lug simplicity which people are still asking about on the 992.

My 997.2 and .1 overlapped in my garage but I ended up keeping the .1. Lots of off topic factors but sold the .2 for much more than the .1 was worth and your delta is 50% more extreme. Perfect complement to a 991.2 RS.

Thanks for the replies!

Travelling end of month to sight the cars.. Lets see what this brings! I guess it's a win situation both ways!

That 997.1 is a SCREAMING deal. Now that we've seen it there can be no doubt it's the much better buy for you.

I've been watching a TV program set occasionally in Lagos, Nigeria and just the thought of a non Safari spec 911 living there makes me laugh. Yes, I noticed that you said the car would live elsewhere.

One year later...

And i pressed the button on the .1 !!

Not the same one though.. that cheap .1 did have issues..

The one i got is a low white 13,000kms mleage with club sport seats and many other options.. As much as i loved the .2 but i realized the one i chose is the real keeper and a better collector..

Will post pictures soon!
