^^^I totally agree on the steering feel issue. If it wasn’t such a big deal to me, the world of potential options (newer cars) would open up significantly. I’m hopeful that electric steering will continue to get better at a clip before the rest of the car has to change so much for enviro reasons? Just about the time they get elec steering fine tuned, the future drive trains will be so different, I’ll still be left cold for new cars.
It is all a little bittersweet as a car shopper....I have always 'loved' buying new cars, but now I am more inclined to a used car.

Yes, I was considering the 991.2 6MT, but I knew I would prefer the hydraulic steering, manual handbrake, and the smaller size, which is significant.

As for new cars, and really anything past the 997.2 / 987.2 gens, it's just into electric steering and irritating things. To suffer through my 7-day RS impound I test drove a 981 Cayman GTS. Nice car, but instantly, where's the road feel and then there's the e-brake and the irritating off-throttle exhaust burble. In other words, within 5 mins I'm like, meh.
I will be testing a new 2020 718 Spyder in a couple of days. I'm not expecting much. After the GT3 rockstar supermodel all else pales. Fingers crossed, right?

Again, congrats on your 7.2 GT3. I came very close, numerous times, to picking one up.

It is pretty amazing, really glad I went the 997 route. I can't stop driving the car....
