Default SOFTRONIC IS NOW ON RENNLIST

Hello,
Softronic has after many years joined Rennlist . We have posted in the Vendor sales section in which many may like . Im not sure if you are aware Softronic tunes each file for your car so there is no generic or extra money for a better file. Softronic offers the best files for one price and extras like Race for cat delete, Pops and Bangs and many other items are all included in our standard price . Softronic has been checking the race files for compliance for years and making files for all the top cars in Porsche racing. Many people are aware of all the Switzer cars we did and others for those custom builds for different turbos, man boost control, injectors, engine builds and so on.

Best,
Scott

I just wanted everyone to know that the software special is only on until Feb 14 for 20% off and 10% on everything else like exhausts and filters.

Thanks MMULLER for the input.

What about E-85 map option? Our cars are getting old even if low miles (just over 20K on mine)and it seems that software and tuning moved on to the newer cars. I see on your site that 997.2 is available, and I also read that development started around 2009(and earlier for 997.1 GT3s)
There were a few more threads on GT3s and E-85, and only 997.1s had E-85 maps available from Cobb. Seems they moved on and never worked on a map for the 997.2 cars.
But regardless of E-85 map availability, your numbers are impressive for a NA car with 93 octane. Have the maps changed much in the 10 years since first developed? And is the software interface mostly load the maps into ECU? Any code erasing, analysis etc?

I have a full Brombacher exhaust. Long tube headers, 200 cell cats, etc... Why should I get your tune over another company that can make a custom tune? I do need a tune as I'm running stock so ready to buy.

Hello,
We do not offer E85 files for any of the Porsche cars as it should not be used in them. The highest Ethanol that is permitted in a standard petrol Porsche is E30 and that is in the Cayenne. E85 is considered highly reactive or corrosive to certain metals, plastics and rubbers and in fact even the pumping stations have to use specific fittings, hoses and pumps. Porsche has had several bulletins warning of the use of ethanols in the cars dating as far back as 2001 and the highest general use is E10-E15. The largest concern in the 997 isnt the fuel tank or lines to the fuel rail yet the AL cylinder heads and valve guides.

The Maps have not changed much as we offer the best for street use and do not make sub par ones for flashing and then offer future tuning to standard street cars for marketing reasons. , We sell the best map for the car so you are paying for that and not necessarily little features that you can simply get from Dash Command or other apps. The cables will though read and erase engine faults besides reading and writing to the car.

Best,
Scott

But the GTLM cars have been running E-85 since around 2014 as far as I remember-perhaps Porsche Motorsports took the necessary measures to convert the race cars to use E-85-and there are maps for E-85(at least the 997.1) and reenlist members that are using it. If it's doing damage, they will find out I suppose-

GTLM was approved for VP Racing Fuel E-20 starting in 2016 at Daytona in which is only slightly higher than the E15 for the street cars.

I remember reading this article, the GTLM cars were running cellulosic E85, 458 won Sebring 2015:

https://www.imsa.com/racing-green-im...ship-forefront

And they may have abandoned it and switched to E20(?)

You posted what I was just going to also Yes that was a green challenge and the winning car was the Ford Eco boost 3.5 ltr Turbocharged engine or flex fuel engines in which are made for E10, E20 or E85 use etc. These are much different than the Porsche non flex fuel cars produced for street non racing use.

Porsche used either VP Racing Fuel E-10 or starting 2015 E-20 and E20C fuels. There had also been a rule change that Porsche and other manufactures were inline with Lemans rules and stated E-20 for the GTLM in 2016 and on. The other series other than GTLM use E-10. The E-85 Green challenge was a partnership IMSA formed with the EPA yet the cars could still use E10 or E-20 .

This is from a listing in 2016:

GT Le Mans (GTLM) This class uses identical technical regulations as cars in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The GTLM class features cars that are the fastest and most elite GT cars on the track. All cars are based on production models, but they are engineered to get the very most in terms of performance. The GTLM class is a used as a proving ground for leading manufacturers like BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford and Porsche. Top Speed: 180 mphHorsepower: 500Weight: 2,745 lbs minimumHeight: Height varies, but is based on production vehicle designWidth: 79 inchesCars: BMW M6, Corvette C7.R, Ferarri 488, Ford GT, Porsche 911 RSREngines: BMW Turbo V8, 5.5-liter Chevrolet pushrod 2-valve, Ferrari Turbo V8, Ford EcoBoost Turbo, Porsche flat 6Fuel: VP Racing Fuel E-20, E-85CGearbox: Paddle shiftTraction Control: Permitted

GT Daytona (GTD) Like the Prototype Challenge class, the GTD is a spec series, using the global FIA-GT3 specification. The cars are all based on production model cars, but must adhere to a strict set of specs. In the GTD class you will find cars from Audi, BMW, Dodge, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche. Top Speed: 180 mphHorsepower: 450Weight: 2,700 lbsHeight: Height varies, but is based on production vehicle designWidth: 79 inchesCars: Aston Martin Vantage GT3, Audi R8 LMS GT3, BMW M6 GT3, Ferrari 458 italia GT3, Lamborghini Huracan GT3, Porsche 911 GT3-R, SRT Viper GT3-REngines: Aston Martin V12, Audi 5.0-liter V10, BMW Turbo V8, Ferrari V8, Lamborghini V10, Porsche 4-liter flat 6, Viper V10Fuel: VP Racing Fuel E-10Gearbox: Paddle shiftTraction Control: Permitted

The Prototypes were also set at E-10

Perhaps this make more sense.

The 2016 list you just posted says GTLM cars E20 and E85C(I assume cellulosic) VP fuels, so maybe they had the option/choice(?)
This article also mentions the Daytona 24H 2014, Richard Leitz, Patrick Pilet and Nick Tandy, running E85:
