This is when you should buy the seller
The selling dealer was great, no issues at all with them in the sale. In fairness, everything I had done was because I just wanted it done not necessarily because it 'needed' to be done or was because of previous neglect. The engine out service to do coolant pipes/elbows and to confirm it had the new actuators (one was the 'old version' so I had that replaced) as well as new valve cover gaskets was more for peace of mind and 'while you are in there' type stuff. Tires had >75% tread when I got the car, but were a bit old by date so I replaced those with the new MPS4S. The suspension updates were also by choice. Only real surprise I had was PS line which was sweating, so had that replaced as well as wheel bearing. Also I knew the Akrapovic race headers and 100 cell cats would be an issue for CT emissions, so I replaced those too and added side bypasses to ensure no fitment issues. None of the work was a burden to me, I had the GT2 to use while work was being done so I didn't mind the car being away. Part of doing all this work is some of the fun and to make it mine! If I bought a $160k version and then had to do all that work, I'd have been upset. So I think next owner can feel confident in the car and it has the service records to back it up. None of this was an ouch for me.

good attitude - you're the buyer, you shouldn't be expected to be the seller / offer a listing price too

We all think our cars are worth more than the market! That said, it's still a good time to be buying as things have calmed down. If you were looking 5 years ago 7.2RS's were 250-350K. No question they are however the next strong value holder in the Porsche line up IMO. You have a nice window now to shop. There are some sweethearts out there for sure. I'd go looking for a Aqua Blue 7.2 RS with white gold accents..

I'd like to give a heads up to anyone that is considering selling a car to '2008whitegt3'. He reached out about my car that I mentioned in this thread. I give him price, history, pictures, etc.. He then offers me $140k. I tell him no thanks. He then emails me back and offers $150k. I tell him the lowest I can go is $155k. He agrees and we have mutual acceptance with the understanding he will pay for a PPI in the coming days. Of course this was after I spent considerable time providing him all the pictures and service history he requested. I'm not here to argue values of cars, but simply to say we had mutual acceptance with given terms of the PPI. I asked if he was a cash buyer and told him that I held a free and clear title. His response was he was 'mostly cash and very little loan'. The next day or so I ask if he'd scheduled a PPI and his response was no and that the car had to be in the state of California in order for his Credit Union to finance it. I suggested he go through a conventional bank and his answer was their rates are too high. He then asks If I would drive the car to California so he could get the loan. I suggest he go through a normal bank for financing to get around this 'car must be in California stipulation'. He then asks me to call my Porsche dealer and ask if they will buy the car from me and then resell it to him and finance the purchase (for no fee of course). I suggest he call Cats Exotics, a smaller independent exotic car dealer and ask if they will do this. He calls and they say yes but will charge 3-5% for this service and he want to know if I will pay for this? My answer is of course no. I then tell him that I am in the process of buying a car and the dealer I am buying from will run the GT3 RS through his dealership as a trade in and sell it to you and provide financing at the same time, AND the car doesn't need to be in California, all the paper work can be done by the dealer I'm buying my car from. He calls them and says their rates are too high and he doesn't want to do that. Keep in mind the buyer actually works in the finance department of an auto dealership, and he's looking to me for financing?? That should've been the second or third red flag. So a week goes by with no effort to schedule a PPI and I ask him where he's at? He texts me back a bank approval letter that says he's been approved for a loan for $139k. I ask him if he's planning on paying an addition $16k cash and his response is 'Decided to go 100% financing. Is up to u at this point'. The point of my post has nothing to do with the value of my car. The point is to let potential sellers know what they are getting into. My car by the way is a 2010 GT3 RS, clean history, zero paint work, unmolested, clean car fax, original msrp of $169k, no mods except for half cage in rear for looks, no track duty, handful of range 1 and 2 over revs only, extensive carbon fiber optioned through the car, and comes with original window sticker and all records.
Twice now in his own thread he has said he has 'no budget'. Sellers should be well aware there is definitely a budget..
