Default Refinished the BBS wheels and winter clean

I refinished one of my set of BBS wheels, removed track numbers, cleaned her up for winter slumber.

She looks great! In the third photo, are those water droplets on your intake screens?

I think those are chips on the mesh from hauling some serious ***. I gotta touch mine up as well. Ive had good results with that plasti dip spray. Just gotta remove the bumper to tape behind it

Curious how you refinished the BBS? I've got the same, and they are dull and gross...

My shop (Vintage Motorsports in Malvern, PA) stripped the Hoosiers, took the wheels apart, sent the centers out to be refinished in Porsche white gold metallic, and they put new outer rings and hardware. They mounted some street tires so I can run her occasionally until first track day in March. I have another set of identical wheels that I plan to redo but i will keep those silver.

I don’t have any close up of wheels prior to finishing but they were just silver.

Close up of refinished wheels, unfortunately I had just driven the car so they wheels were a bit dirty in this close up shot.

Plastidip is better than paint because it stays flexible which takes punishment without flaking. Paint needs more of a surface to have strength

I see - so new outer rings might be the way to go...thanks for the reply.

The Lips can be repolished pretty easily, but you will want to split the wheels first.

Yes true, you can polish the outers. We tried polishing but they were too beat up to achieve the “new wheel” look i wanted so I decided to just buy new outers.
