Unhappy Need help with gearbox problem

I was doing some maintenance and I decided to change the transmission oil. I have made a stupid mistake and I removed the wrong plug... It's not the filler plug but the bearing screw that holds the selector lever that I removed.

Is there a way to fix this without removing the transmission?

Any help is much appreciated!

My answer it ya put it back in just like you took it out,.... but I am guessing you have omitted vital info where that is simply not possible.

My local non Porsche shop did this to an old Porsche of mine on accident. Same scenario.
Required dropping the tranny and rebuild. Sorry.

I saw that plug when doing mine recently, it certainly looks like the filler plug and I can see how the mistake was made.

You'd be best to call Bill Rader or CA motorsports and ask, because if you can't just put it back you'll be sending it to one of these guys. Bummer man sorry about that. The trans can be pulled by itself, and shipped in a large cooler.

I afraid you have no other choice but to drop the transmission from the car. You need to crack open the transmission to fix the problem. Remove plastic cover item 29 which is hold by a c clip (item 30) to release the spring (item 28). Once you remove the spring, carefully reiinstall item 36 and make sure it is insert into the lever correctly (item35). Make sure the lever is not bent. Reinstall the spring in reverse order. Use a correct size socket to push the plastic cover (item 29) and the c clip (item 30) into position. You need to order new parts for item 29, 30 and 36 as they are not reusesable once remove. Please PM me in case you need further information. Good luck
