GT3 RS Rear Bumper Cover Center Vents - How do they work?

Hey all,
I'm trying to figure out the intended purpose of the center vents located on the gt3 rs rear bumper cover (located just below the deck lid). Cup cars have these vents too and I'm curious how they work. Is there a hole somewhere between the deck lid and the bumper cover that allows air to escape the engine compartment? It doesn't really look like it was designed to have a venturi effect..more like just a passive vent to allow air to flow through or possibly just to escape? But from where? Build up between the bumper cover and the exhaust? If anyone knows and/or has pictures of the RS without its rear bumper cover on that'd be much appreciated.
Thanks,
-Tom

I think it's just a vertical escape route for the hot air from the exhaust. The side vents are similar but basically vent air out due to the negative pressure that forms behind the car at speed.
