On the 997.1rs:

I've owned at least one of every 997gt car Porsche made and still own a couple examples including the 997.1rs. While I KNOW the 3.8 and 4.0 are hands down significantly better performing cars (esp on track), sometimes I try to ask myself if I truly like them better than the 3.6 for fun on street. I'd be hard pressed to be honest with myself about whether I'd be more sad to let go of my 4.0 or 3.6 frog. The 4.0 PROBABLY wins out, just because it's supposed to. But if I walked into this blindly with no prior knowledge or preconceived ideas, there's a chance I'd pick my frog. 7.1rs might be my fav toy for the street of all time: looks, Goldilocks power for street, playful suspension, etc, etc. On track, it is a big step down to its younger siblings out-of-the-box.

Congrats on the purchase.

I would have met you except that I was called to work today. I run the crest Sunday mornings all the time.

Congrats!! You'll love the car. Hard to see, but what seats do you have?

Any 997 gt car > gt4
That is not a judgement on the gt4, it’s a great car
the 997gt cars are very special machines and you feel it every time you drive one.
right decision.

Couldn't agree more, there is a visceral feeling I get in the RS that I didn't have in the GT4

Gt4 amazing for what it is. Punches so far over it's weight and value it's ridiculous. But, I don't put it in same sentence as a 997rs.

Interesting discussion on the GT4. I know a lot of people who got rid of GT3/RSs to buy GT4s. But they mostly got rid of PDKs to buy a manual, and who can blame them.
