I gotta say, and this is subjective, the Chartreuse RS 4.0 is hideous. Just one persons opinion. The owner must have a Chartreuse 73 RS.

As to how PTS was ordered before it became a joke the way it worked was if you wanted one you didn't get to see a palette from the Exclusive Dept. There wasn't an Exclusive Dept. If you were deemed a valuable influential customer that bought lots of Porsche cars your dealer could petition Special Wishes / Porsche. YOU gave the dealer a color you wanted and they returned with a yes or no. And the cost varied depending on the paint. Choosing "PTS" colors from a palate is choosing really expensive optional paint. It's a joke. I'm sure you all know that 2 of the 19 PTS CGTs were orange. One called Pure Orange and the other Aurencio Borealis. The Lambo Orange CGT is the most expensive of the US PTS CGTs. Also remember that no 2004 CGTs are paint to sample. That means Porsche's wealthiest most loyal customers didn't have the option....at all. That changed in 2005. And 19 is the number. Like Mooty said PTS is nothing more than paint now. Listening to the debates makes me laugh. It's just really expensive paint if the customer is being shown a palette. Porsche is the most profitable car company because it exploits it's customers 'I'm the king of the underdogs ego' with the constant stroking they need so badly. LOL!!! JBO PS Paint to Sample. The sample color brought to the dealer. To Sample.....

^^agree. It's unique for sure which is its only appeal. But there's a reason a color like that isn't mass produced. It's just awful.

Somehow I missed this thread. I agree Chartreuse is an acquired taste, but it IS a 73 RS color. Also, it photographs very badly - impossible to capture accurately. And it is part of an acid green obsession - also have a Leicht grun 74 3.0, 74 Lime Green Carrera 2,7 MFI and just got a Birch Green 997.2RS. And you are right, it is the ONLY chartreuse 4.0. The tires are original.

Did you buy the Birch Green 7.2 that was in SoCal? Was it Newport?

Do you still own this car? It looks just like the car I bought new.

Thats the same car. It took me a while to figure it out but as far as I can tell even with the DZL package black uprights wasn’t an option. The Three PTS 7.2s I have seen all had standard uprights except one (the Mexico Blue 7.2 in this thread has black uprights) Mine were painted at PNH by a previous owner. So it’s still a partial mystery if it was a factory option.
