One month later.... loving this car. I wanted a 991 gt3RS while my brother kept telling me to get a 997 stick. So far I am really happy with this decision. I am in for half the cost of a 991 and the fun factor with this car is off the charts! Yesterday I got a flat on the same day I got my SOUL side bypass delivered. Well this makes for a good project. With my tires being from 2013 I felt it might be well deserved to put some new shoes on. Sport Cup2's and muffler delete yes please! The sound of the new system combined with the Sharkwerks center bypass is soooo sick! Both parts came together like a glove.

Glad to hear you're loving the car! ... Ques: Do the valves change something (open or closed) in this exhaust config?

How's the drone with the soul side deletes + SW bypass? Also is there change in tone? Thinking about going the same route.

Just if the exhaust comes out the upper smaller pipe or both. I have not taken it out on the road yet. Only started it on the stands with the plug out. The sound difference is significant in a good way!

If you had a decibel meter, it would be interesting to see how much the smaller upper tubes decrease the sound level. I'm thinking it can't be much.

But maybe it just changes the tone a bit, not necessarily the volume level.

I may pick up one of these just so I can do the same type tests on my cars.... (especially my 396 big block Camaro engine with electric cutouts. V8 open headers are crazy loud!!)

OK I have the car back together with the valves hooked up. The results are very cool. With the button off valves closed the sound is louder then before with the valves open. The sound still has enough back pressure to have a constant sound. It's mean mean mean! Now when you opn the valves it's full on race car with almost buckles in the sound. It's full blown ;-) SO now I choose between race car street and race car track !

FBG - gorgeous car and some well thought out upgrades since purchase. I think it was also very well bought. Inspired by your post, I went looking but don't see anything in the neighborhood of where you bought. Well done.

Congratulations all around.

Do mind sharing what the dealer asking price was? $85K for a 997.2 GT3 with 10K miles is cheap in my book... even if it had a bad mark on the carfax.

I don't think I've seen any cars really sub $100K.

Carbon rear spoiler. The dealer was asking $90k and had turned $85 down a few times. It was at the dealer on consignment. He said a bunch of googans came in and said they did not like the wrap on the hood or the GT3 stickers.
i walked in and started it up in the showroom. 3 seconds later I handed him a fist full of cash and a $85k offer. I was stoked when he called and said the owner accepted it! I freakin love this car. The new sticky Michelin’s tires are so much fun to rip on.
I know the guys over at Braille battery pretty good and today she is going to lose another 40 pounds!

I am so pleased this car went to a real hands-on enthusiast - well done, excellent buy!

This car was in my top 3 while doing my search for a 997.2 GT3, and I was the guy that provided the consignment dealer and owner with the actual police accident report (after some diligent sleuthing from a far) that proved the CarFax flagged incident was only a minor, low speed, no airbag deployment fender-bender.
It is a great car, and an even better one at $85K....a nice place to start your Porsche adventure.

Enjoy!
