Default RMS leak gone, with install of new exhaust

Hi Members,

I've been with this car for 8 years. Purchased off a friend, who had the RMS fixed once under his ownership. Under my ownership, the casing was always dry as a bone and never leaked, that is until I installed a Center delete. Soon after that, the car started leaking. I've heard Porsche service centers state that a center delete is what causes the leak and have always thought, Hogwash.

Then last year I removed the center delete and installed a new aftermarket exhaust and the leak has stopped. Completely stopped!

The car has been driven, under my ownership, with the same regularity for the last 8 years. About twice a month it gets out.

Wondering if the new aftermarket exhaust has anything to do with it.

Thoughts?

Very interesting, my car has a center delete from the previous owner and also experiences occasional RMS seeps. What’s the new exhaust you switched to?

Hi. That exhaust will surely melt the rear bumper when you really get it hot.....

I have gold heat rejection tape on the bumper. It does throw some mean heat.

How'd you find that. I looked but gave up. That is the exact system I'm running. Night and day with power delivery. Trying to figure out a tune for it. EVoms or Cobb, it's down to those two.

thanks, I take pride in wasting time looking for parts for this car

hard to tell from the photos, but does this exhaust have a center muffler?

Lol, relax, it's ok. My OCD is diminishing and this is just another item to help diminish the disease.

I could get back in there and adjust but have better things to do with my time at the moment. Too much snow in the mountains to even think about fixing something I that I actually like the look of. Maybe when I have to buy another rear bumper due to this one melting I'll readjust

I don't see anything wrong with the center delete.

sorry a bit confused. You went from stock headers, stock sides, center delete to aftermarket headers, aftermarket sides, different center delete? Not sure if RMS leak can be pinned on the center delete itself since other parts of the exhaust changed too. Unless you suspect that the RMS leak would have also stopped if you used stock center (or any other center) with your original setup?

Im kind of going there. Heard of Service centers denying RMS fix due to center deletes, and never thought that could be a cause. Don't know how to explain the stop of the leak otherwise. Oil, driving habits and car storage has not changed one bit.
