New 997.2 GT3 Owner
Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Kyle from the Bay Area and happy to say I’ve joined the p-car ranks. I’ve been doing my research on here for the past 6 months and finally pulled the trigger on a 997.2 GT3 last month. I never was really into Porsche’s until I got to drive a 991.1 GT3 and that pretty much immediately started the hunt for a GT3, but in a manual. Coming from an AMG GT and a V10 R8 there really is no comparison, the GT3 is such a rewarding car to drive (but y’all already know that).
The car came with a few mods already, it has a SharkWerks bypass, Fabspeed CF intake (replaced it with a stock airbox for now) and the RS 4.0 Clutch and Flywheel done recently. One of the first things I did once the car was delivered was install the harmonic damper pulley from Dundon. Honestly I was surprised how easy this was to do was really expecting it to take me a while to figure out. I also took a quick peek at one of the cam actuators to make sure the bolts weren’t backing out already. Other small cosmetic things I’ve done were the RS door pulls and the Cup front lip. It doesn’t seem like the coolant lines have been pinned yet, but luckily I have Sharkwerks 20 miles away to help take care of that.
At some point I’d like to switch out the sport seats for something lighter and get some silver BBS Monoblock wheels since the black on black look isn’t really my thing although it does hide brake dust nicely
Looking forward to racking up the miles and getting on to the track

Nice looking car! Not to hijack your thread, but what did you use to hold the pulley during removal and installation? Does the car run noticeably smoother with the damper installed? I have installed ATI dampers on other makes and noticed a difference right away for normal driving.
edit: Also, did you check the bolts on the intake and exhaust actuators, or just the intakes?

If I had a nickel for every time I heard someone say, "I didn't understand the Porsche thing, but then I drove a 911..."! I liked BMW's and Audi's, and then I drove a 997 C2S at a racetrack with a supercar driving experience. 3 laps later, I was hooked. Other cars may be faster, but nothing I've driven has been more fun than a GT3.

Thanks everyone!
Yeah I installed them myself, it took about 2 hours to do by following this how to

The pulley just came off by hand after I removed the bolt with an impact gun, I was expecting to use a pulley removal tool. To put it on I used my friends pulley tool that looked like a fork to hold it. It does run a lot smoother at idle. The chatter doesn't vibrate the car at all, but it is still slightly audible. Revs are still lively like before, I definitely recommend the damper pulley you have the LWFW. As for the actuators, I am not sure I only checked the ones that were easily accessible which were the ones on the passenger side and I think I read somewhere they were the ones most prone to backing out. I'll have all the actuators checked once I get the coolant lines pinned.
Couldn't have said it any better

Congrats on the GT3! I have almost the exact same setup. Black on black, 4.0 clutch and LWFW with harmonic damper, center bypass. Get some bucket seats and you will be even more in love.
