This thread is tempting to sell everything I drive and buy the Queen....ugh
Is there any good reviews comparing the 3.8 vs 4.0?
In my head, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of difference to explain a 200K price delta.

I sound like a broken record but don't trust a review on a 200k upgrade to 4.0; find an RL'er to let u drive one. If u r ever in NY, PM me and u can drive mine. Then you'll really know either way. Not sure I'd trade a known 3.8 for 4.0 at these levels. Then again I'm not trading down at these levels either. So some of it would just be laziness; not $$$

RS 4.0 vs 3.8
Depends if there's something else you want to spend 200k on. If there is, the 3.8 makes more sense.
Here's the only side by side I've seen, by Adam Towler before he worked for Evo:

This isn't a popular opinion but imo the main reason why there is that large a price difference is the XXX/600 plaque on the dash and very little to do with technical/driving differences.

That is an interesting opinion from someone who has presumably driven both.
I find the extra torque as well as the different suspension settings make a major difference in feel. Whether that is worth the price differential is an individual choice, however the cars do differ in a meaningful way.

Or it could be that it is and will remain the greatest driver's car of all time...
It's still a big premium to pay over what might be the second greatest but it's quite a thing to have and they're not making any more of them. For me the driving pleasure is foremost but it's also having a piece of history.

What are the actual mechanical differences btw 3.8 and 4.0, apart from the extra 0.2L? If it’s just the 0.2L, then the 3.8RS is a huge bargain given the price diff.
