997 GT era cars are already classics, it’s a true drivers cars. 991 and now 992 are better but softer and dull. Everyday easy fast car = 991. Raw emotion = 997.

997s will also only keep climbing in value, nobody is going to care about 991s in 5 years if that makes any impact in your decision.

Great input. I think if I were to use it as a daily I'd go with the 991 for comfort but for a weekend toy its a 997.2 for me!

hehe,... yea,... before we bought our 997.2 GT3, we drove a bunch of 2016 GTS because we wanted to add a NA / Manual / Watercooled. But it was just not the high rev'ing schrill of an engine that we were looking for.

...... I also gotta admit that when we drove a '18 GTS in Germany for a week, I kinda liked the turbo exhaust back-pressure gurgle on lift-off. .... I had fun with it,... but after my over&over&over of gas-on / gas-off / gas-on / gas-off, she started to get pissed at me (her head kept banging back & forth on the headrest as I laughed the entire time).

How bout you OP jgorscak ??

997.2 3.8 RS is a car for the ages. I will only sell mine when I can no longer shift manuals!

.... so we will see. I'm mixed on selling the .1. but between a new Harley and a few fox body mustang's (my early 20s dream.. lol. ).. I only put 2000km on my gt3 last summer. so hopefully new rs us the hot ticket.... or I guess I'll be selling and getting a 10 11 rs.
best plan, you will not regret it!

Just to update everyone...

I spent a long time thinking about it and with the help from everyone here I pulled the trigger on an immaculate 7.2RS from a seller on this forum. Picked it up on Sunday and I can't be more happy! It was the car for sale by FLGT and I must say he was excellent to work with. The car was exactly as described.

Thanks again for everyone who shared their thoughts. I feel I definitely made the correct decision!

Congrats! Agree with all above sentiments. 991.1 is already irrelevant. 1.2 will be soon to follow. 7.2 will be a future classic.

If you want the fastest possible then 991 pdk. If you want the most rewarding driving experience then 997. Just my .02

Tremendous choice...you'll never regret a 7.2RS. The bottom is falling out on 991.1 GT3s as the world watches in horror, and they will be decent examples of 14-15 models available for under $100k this year. 991 GT cars will depreciate like no others have before, at least from what I'm seeing so far.
