Going even farther back, I bought my grey-market (Belgium) 911SC from Exotic Motors on Bellevue-Redmond road back in 1986. Several 996's since - one currently my fave... and recently acquired a low-mileage 2011 997.2 GT3 as an investment. Plan is holding at least 10 years w/300 miles a year... it's a shame... and I'll probably get blasted for it... time will tell. But our 1999 996 served us well this summer with 8 track events including Mid-Ohio, Pitt-Race, Grattan, Waterford Hills - all out of Michigan. Mid-Ohio my favorite - it has a great flow to it. I watched the IndyCar guys on TV this summer - passing in places I would have never thought possible...

Details on 2011 GT3 w/8990 miles? Here's what I sent to Excellence magazine for their "recently purchased" page: Black w/Black leather seats w/Alcantara inserts. Over $25k in options including Interior Package Carbon, PCM 3.0 w/Extended Navigation, Ceramic Composite Brakes -PCCB, Front Axle Lifting System, Sport Chrono, Dynamic Cornering Lights and too many more to list. Former owner is an executive at a leading Porsche dealership, and while the car was driven aggressively in mountain areas, it has never seen a race track. Xpel Ultimate Paint Protection film applied to front end and rear forward-facing flares. Service records and receipts included… this car was literally over-serviced! Always stored indoors in climate-controlled environment. Car shows as-new. Window sticker $139,945.00 Purchased for $124,500.00 (It was traded in by former owner on a new Lamborghini Huracan - I bought it from the Lambo Dealership)

Hey!! That is my old RS! Bought it new from Carousel Porsche of Minneapolis back in 2011. Great car! I enjoyed 3XXX miles in that puppy. Enjoy- I regretted selling it so much, I hassled a friend for 6 months to buy a sister car... Great drive too!

Three Wheelin'
Hey, I bet you drove through my hometown (a decrepit old logging and mill town on the Central Oregon Coast that you certainly don't remember unless you thought "what a gloomy place!" while passing the abandoned buildings). The only time I saw a Porsche before I turned 16 was on various posters and in various magazines. As a kid, I would have been flabbergasted had ANY 911 rolled through on HWY 101, never mind the 80's equivalent of a GT3 RS!
I enjoyed your pictures! The Southern Oregon Coast, with the Siskiyou Mountains butted up against the water, is much more scenic than where I grew up. Congratulations on getting lots of sun instead of fog!

Bucket list trip planning for 2021. Taking my 997.2 GT3 from Minnesota up through Canada and down PCH to San Diego and then back to Minnesota. 6000 miles and 4 weeks! Thanks for the preview of things to come! Priceless!

Loved the photos, and glad you had such a wonderful experience! I'm guessing I've seen that 3RS in Seattle before, and always loved that color combination. Enjoy her in the best of health my friend.

Beautiful car - congrats ! What a trip! I just checked with my shipper and I can get my car to Seattle for $1800 from Houston. Assume close to same from SanDiego to HOUSTON so $+/-3500 round trip shipping. Cheap really. About the same as two round trip tix to Europe coach! I’m doing that trip! I suppose I could have it sent to a Porsche dealership in Seattle?
