Default PCCB’s

Just wondering what forum members are replacing their brake pads with on their PCCB’s

The dealership quoted me about $2500 Canadian for pads and a few other related brake parts, thought that was a little expensive and that didn’t include installation

2011 Turbo S

Thanks

My RS is a weekend car with an occasional track day and the OEM pads work well for me, with very little brake dust. I bought a new, unused complete set of OEM pads from an RL seller for $500 in 2016. Watch the for sale ads on here and you can usually find a a good buy.

Thanks a lot for the reply,

I ended up ordering Hawk HPS 5.0, cost for front and rears are about $500 Canadian.

i phoned Hawk and they said these work for PCCB’s, hope they’re right.

The only "aftermarket" pads I've seen specific to PCCBs were made by TRW and even those I've been told to avoid. Get the OEM Pagid P40-3FF pads. They are around $700 online for all 4 corners and will last you years. Don't use generic run of the mill stuff on a $10K set of rotors.

I replaced them myself at 60K miles with the OEM pads. Probably had about 20 HPDE days on it and numerous AX. Original pads had at least 60+% thickness left. THe ceramics were checked at the dealer and had about 25% wear on them.

OEM pads or Pagid RSC1's. If you need a source for either, I'd be happy to help.

Hi John,

I canceled the order for the Hawk’s and decided to go OEM. I measured the rears and still have 4mm left on one of the pads, the others are better.
I’m not dire but I know they have to be done soon but was hoping for one more track session.

Sunset Porsche in Oregon has pretty good pricing however maybe you could pm me with your pricing, also need bolts and censors.

Thanks
Jim

smart man.
I really wanted to buy the TRWs for $250, but could not find anyone that would fess up to actually using them.
I could never get an answer from TRW about PCCB real life use, so bit the bullet and spent nearly $600 for front pads rather than risk rotor damage.
