Default 2007 GT3RS vs. 2010 GT3RS

Is there any difference between these two? which would be considered a keeper? 2007 had fewer than 2000 built

how many 2010-2011 were built?

They are quite different. Not sure where to begin honestly so here's wikipedia on 997.1 and 997.2:

997.1: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsch...3#997.1_GT3_RS
997.2: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsch...3#997.2_GT3_RS

main differences:
bigger wing
wider section tires
lower gearing
35HP, most of it low down
different chassis calibration
minor look differences
carbon buckets available

both are nice cars

the .2RS feels torquier, and out of the box will be faster on track due to the chassis improvements (mostly) and a little bit due to the power band, but mostly due to the attractive gearing in 2-5.

Gearing seems relatively the same in 997.1 gt3, 997.1 GT3RS and 997.2 gt3. 997.2 GT3RS and 4.0 have shorter gearing. Not sure if there are subtle differences in between?

doesn't the 997.1 GT3RS have a 3.6L engine whereas the 997.2 GT3RS has a 3.8?
That seems like a significant difference, not necessarily in quality.

Compared to each other, they are different, compared to any other car they would seem quite similar.

My addition: The 997.2 GT3, and RS have PSM (stability control), while the 997.1 does not have it. To me, the 997.2 is much easier to drive on the track, while the 997.1 is a handful that requires complete focus, and very quick hands.

As far as future values, other than the RS 4.0, I would pick the 997.1 RS.

both are keepers.

all newer GT or turbo 911 cars are faster than them on track, so the small performance differences between the two is irrelevant.
