bigger wing
wider section tires
lower gearing
35HP, most of it low down
different chassis calibration
minor look differences
carbon buckets available
both are nice cars
the .2RS feels torquier, and out of the box will be faster on track due to the chassis improvements (mostly) and a little bit due to the power band, but mostly due to the attractive gearing in 2-5.

doesn't the 997.1 GT3RS have a 3.6L engine whereas the 997.2 GT3RS has a 3.8?
That seems like a significant difference, not necessarily in quality.

As far as future values, other than the RS 4.0, I would pick the 997.1 RS.
