Default 997.2 GT3 RS exhaust

Hello guys,

A friend have a 997.2 GT3 RS and search an exhaust. He see the Armytrix, IPE.

Interesting to have feedback for owners or a better solution?

The Armytrix is interested by the silent mode and race mode. ( for race track )

What do you think?

Thanks

I'd say a set of valved side muffler bypass pipes are a good option and most popular for a street/track car. Also loses 35lbs off the back of the car and prevents heat soak right behind the rear tires. At the end of the day it's all about his individual goals, but I know the systems quite well and you can give me a call any time to review at 484 883 6197 : )

+1 - Valved Side Muffler Bypass is always my first recommendation for the GT3/GT3 RS cars. Gives you a more aggressive yet still very refined tone and as John said, drops approx. 35 pounds from the rear of the car and in turn, helps with cooling.

Comparison between OEM:

From there, the sky is the limit! Headers are a great place to pick up more power and further enhance the exhaust tone.

Technically the side mufflers have no emissions related equipment, therefore should have no affect on a smog test. The only thing in the exhaust that could affect a smog test would be changing out the header assemblies as that is where the catalytic converters are located.

I have a set of frequency intelligent valved exhaust with side bypass, very similar to the armytrix and IPE. Has less than 500 miles, let me know if interested.

Is the stock center TI muffler more prone for cracking with side delete?

Anybody track the stock TI center without cracking?

We personally haven't seen any fail with just side muffler deletes. Typically when you combine them with catless race headers is when the increased pressure can cause a failure, that is when you should reinforce or replace the center muffler with a with a stronger design.

So have we, we have a graveyard of them behind the shop haha. That being said, the cars they were on were being tracked heavily running race headers.

I don't like relying on hope, that's not an inexpensive muffler I would reinforce it to be on the safe side. We do offer a reinforcement service if you want to send your new center muffler to us.

Thumbs up

Fabspeed Motorsport designed and engineered a universal GT3 center muffler reinforcement plate. The CNC machined T304L stainless steel lightweight plate slips in behind the GT3 muffler straps and muffler and strengthens the achilles heel of all GT3 stainless and titanium OEM mufflers. The GT3 center most section is the weak point for expansion and contraction.

Since 2006 when the 1st generation Gt3 cars arrived I have seen and witnessed countless GT3 cars with cracked and broken center mufflers. Porsche should offer these GT3 reinforcement plates in their TechEquipment as all GT3 mufflers are at risk. No matter a GT3 daily driver like our customer with over 100,000K on his 2011 GT3.....to a GUNG-HO DE guy or CUP car with a GT3 center outlet muffler they all will break/fail eventually.
This Fabspeed parts protects pervents mitigates failures on any and all GT3 OEM mufflers.
