Default Check Engine Light On

Went for a drive a couple of weeks ago and to my dismay the check engine light went on. Checked all the usual things (gas cap, oil cap) and light stayed on. Oil temperature and pressure were fine. Called the nearest Porsche dealership and scheduled an appointment. Diagnostics revealed catalyst efficiency faults banks one and two (P0420 and P0430). They cleared the faults and performed short tests. The short tests passed quickly. Porsche informed me that if the light came back on, the O2 sensors would need to be replaced. I do have a Sharkwerks center muffler delete and ECU tune. Brought the car back home, and no problems until a few days later when the engine light came back on again. Looks to me like I could easily replace the O2 sensors myself. I can get all 4 from Bosch for $380, or get the real deal from Porsche for $1028. Has anyone had experience with the Bosch sensors? Should I replace all of them, or just the pre catalyst sensors? Any recommendations?

Timely thread...

I mostly track my 2011 RS but still have a plate on it. Drove to NYC on Sunday evening to be able to have a car to get out early Wed AM and back home. Its about a 3 hour drive nonstop. Was super hot out, and over 2 hours in the check engine light came on. I figured an O2 sensor also. Just checked my durametric and said the same...PO420 and PO430. I have a Cargraphic exhaust. Just clear them and go on ? As an additional note, I was highway driving about 75 but put into 6th gear to limit revs and heat generated so was at 2500-3200 RPM. I think thats part of my issue...

I’ve used the generic part bosch they are the same.
Keep in mind the sensor that trigger is cel is the sensor after the cat. It’s indicsting that your cat is not operating right.
Now. It may be and it’s the sensor.
Or it may be the cat.
Track use is hard on the cats (part of reason i run cup headers)
so start with post cat sensors first.
