Can the rev info be erased in anyway other than swapping out the control unit?
Do not intend to hijack this thread but the other day was thinking what happens if car battery is disconnected for 6 months? Does ecu have it's own battery to maintain the memory?

I looked at the add for that car. Beautiful! That’s basically a clone of mine. I love GT Silver and full leather! Wish you the best and a long and happy ownership experience!

I'm pretty sure that if a problem was going to arise from the over-rev it'd have already happened. That said, if you're buying the car for an under-market price then you'll just know you'll be selling it for under-market down the road. So you'll spend the same depreciation from the time of purchase to the time of sale as anyone else does with these cars, regardless of the DME, and will have enjoyed just as much fun as the rest. If you never sell it then you've come out way ahead.

Hi, I'm looking at a 2011 model with 10,385 miles. The DME report looks a little extreme to me, I think this car has definitely been tracked hard? (I dont know mind tracked cars normally). I just want to know you think about this type of report with this engine, should I steer away? Thanks.

Total operating hours is 297. We verbally agreed on the price. Fingers crossed. Here's the listing - https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/ctd...617367943.html

Thanks everyone for their input so far.
