GT3 "must have" options?
#17
There are more good options to choose from on a .2, but the things that were on my must list when hunting for a .1 were full leather interior and ceramic brakes.... for the reasons already stated by others.

No Chrono. Think twice about the leather. Make sure you are ok without it. Personally it gripes me to no end leather is not standard on a 100K car. Drive the ****e out of it and leave the traction control on for awhile

Must have
- 3 pedals
- exhaust mods. - remove side mufflers or delete center exhaust.
- good alignment - car is very good with one. Rather average with a poor one.
- good rubber
- club sport seats, harness and fire bomb plus cage if available to your country
- clean over rev history for around range 3 and up.
Then if yo can drive one with a larger engine build. Omg they are good with one.
welcome to the club. Enjoy.

All the must haves come standard: 6 speed manual, RWD, and an NA Mezger flat 6
I can't think of one option my car has that I couldn't live without. Options are nice to have, but I think I would have been just as happy with a base car. When I was hunting for a GT3 the one thing I wanted was an alcantara steering wheel/shift ****, just love the way it feels in the hands and I feel it suits the GT3s character more.
If you're talking aftermarket options a center muffler bypass is a must!

Great condition and a clean DME are by far the most important. A car with a clear bra is a big plus too. That said, I'm a sucker for the full leather with alcantera everywhere. My friend has the standard plastic center consul on his 4s and it is wearing very badly. I have the painted one to match my exterior color and it still looks fantastic. These can be added after the fact though.

Year - clear bra for the low Porsche hood is a must. I had a Boxster S and after 4 years/70K miles it had about a 1,000 little paint dings on the hood. I won't buy another nice car without one now.

I recently bought a 997.2 GT3 because it was the most modern car that had my 4 favorite features: hydraulic steering, NA motor, manual, rear-wheel drive.
When shopping for a car, I didn't know whether I should look for front axle lift. Now that I've had the car for about a month (I live in ATL area), I'm very glad my car has it. I use it almost every time I drive.

These cars are so great you can't go wrong. And i'm going to get pounced for this but find a car with LOTS of leather or alcantara whatever you prefer. The plastic in 997s is junk. Horrible. I know because I ordered my 997.1 RS with no A/C no radio no Xenons and no leather. The plastic is beyond bad. GLWS!!! PS I strongly suggest side muffler delete. It saves tons of weight sounds great and it mimics the Cup muffler.

While not a must have, I will raise my hand for the full leather as well. I even went as far as getting the center console in leather and very happy I did. I learned though it was not common to tick that option box. My son's car does not have the full leather option and it feels like it is missing something without it. I also do not have the wart where his car does. It seems out of place and he never uses it. I feel it just interrupts the top of the dash.
