Hi gang, new owner of a 7.2 GT3 here. Going through the car and noticed the air filter has a part # prefix of 996. Looking around it looks like the geometry of the 996 filter and the 997 might be the same but the 997 one has a foam backing and plastic frame it comes in. I can't find anything regarding this topic. I went ahead and ordered the cheaper 996 filter since there was one in the car already to avoid potential incompatibility issue. Any compelling reason the 996 filter should not be put into this car?
