Default Help me decide between these two GT3s...

Hi, I have been on the market for a while but just recently crossed all other cars off my list and decided to get a GT3 997.1. I am down to two cars - 2007 yellow with 31K miles, clean DME (only in range 1), was tracked for sure. Drove car and it seems clean, all service is up to date but coolant pipes have not been addressed:

The other car is a 2007, meteor grey, 7K miles. Owner has modified it a bit, and I would like to take the half cage out if I buy it (is that an easy thing to do? I assume it leaves holes). It was used on the track. DME still unknown (awaiting PPI). All service has been done up to date. Coolant pipes not addressed:

Thoughts on which is the better route to go?
Thank you in advance.

1)Negotiate that price on the yellow one big time.
2)The Meteor gray looks like a better deal given the mileage and IMO, I would leave the cage in there. Why take it out in the first place and the carpet holes would be a bit of an eye sore.

For me, I would go Meteor gray. The Ronald McDonald theme with the yellow exterior and red gauges would be an instant deal breaker.

At the end of day, it boils down to what you like more and what kind of deal you get. Clean PPI/DME report, condition and final agreed price are all what matter.

I prefer the Meteor Gray one. When you see the color in person it absolutely looks excellent.

And yes, you would have to replace the carpet because when the cage comes out. Or just leave it in.

Haha I thought about the McDonalds theme as well
Thanks for the advice....

If you buy the silver car, I'll buy the cage from you (seriously).

The owner of SF Sports Cars knows a ton about these cars. He's a really good dude. We took delivery of our 997 GT3 RS and GT2 at about the same time. I think they both look good and have nice options so it depends on how they check out and your color and option preferences.

Maybe I'm way off here. But the bumper looks slightly different in shade... is that normal. I ask also because mine also looks slightly different but paint meter showed correct thickness????

Yeah, this is an unfortunate Porsche phenomenon from this era. Even my PTS CGT had a slight delta in the color of the bumper. And I know the car had never been repainted. Aw, the vagaries of Porsche...

The type of material (plastic vs metal) will give a slightly different reflection.

Good point as far as the PPI, get some paint readings and check if any parts were resprayed.

Good to know.
Also... to the op. Only get the yellow one if it comes with the plate.

I really like the way the grey car looks. The wheels in body color work very well!! You can buy a trim piece it's $300 or IIRC, I got a used one for $180 from a dismantler. You can then offer the cage for sale along with the cut trim piece, so that the buyer won't have to cut theirs. Good luck!

Paint checks out. Only problem is the front end of car is covered with a clear bra so paint meter readings are high. Any solution for this?
