Exclamation Group Buy Feeler: RS 4.0 Wing End Plates and Dive Planes

Guys, as some of you know I've been trying to find a set of RS 4.0 wing end plates for some time now. They are bigger than the 3.8 version and slightly curved, give the wing a more finished look and are completely plug & play with the 3.8 wing, and that model only. The problem is that they retail at $3,700 for the set. Ditto for the dive planes, at $750 a set they are not exactly a bargain.

I’ve been speaking with a reputable vendor here who offered to make high quality exact replicas of those parts from carbon fiber. The retail cost will be as follows:

RS 4.0 Wing End Plates $1,100/set MSRP ($950 for a group buy of 10+ orders)
RS 4.0 Dive Planes $650/set MSRP ($600 for a group buy of 10+ orders)

The parts will be delivered primered and ready to paint.

Bare carbon fiber will be an additional $150.

Please let me know if you are interested. Committed parties will be asked for a 20% deposit upfront. Production should take 6-8 weeks.

Thanks!

You should talk to Rodger at orbit about the dive planes he sells. A little more aggressive than 4.0 plates and much better price. That is if you are open to non oem. Carbon fiber as well.

The key for me is to keep the parts looking OEM. Period.

Seen 'em, they look too big on an otherwise stock car.

The way the process was explained to me is that you can make the part out of carbon fiber and if the weave doesn't have to follow a certain pattern it is less labor intensive to make and therefore cheaper.

If you want the pretty and perfect weave the cost is slightly higher.

Might be interested in the end plates, as for the splitters, seems well covered already between the Orbit and Joe Toth options?

Yeah that's fine, I figured offering both could be a good option but you can order either set.

FVD makes the 4.0 style out of plastic for $350.

These were $225 a few years ago.

I would be interested in the endplates. Are they making molds using a set of factory 4.0 endplates or based on a 3D scan?

I bought a set of the FVD CF 4.0 dive planes a couple of years ago and the quality was really poor. Rhonda was very gracious and accepted the return.

Both the wing end plates and the dive planes will be made out of molds from factory parts.

Looks like this may be a done deal at this point. Did the end plate plan come to fruition? If so, I would like to get the contact information for a future purchase.

Didn't get enough interest in this, unfortunately.

Thanks RS1. We are actually mostly interested in the wing end caps from the 4.0. The are much more refined than the 3.8 end caps. Can you produce those?
