My battery started acting up today and I plan to replace it. I cant remember the AGM replacement battery I bought from Walmart for my 997 C2S, it was an exact fit.
Besides the porsche battery, what do you recommend thats an exact fit?

996 and 997 cars use same battery configuration. Whatever you had on your c2s, will work on RS. I have used odyssey PC925. One of them lasted 2.5 years - i got a full warranty i only needed to pay for shipping on one set. I replace every 4 years regardless. They still work - just replace.
I have had them on my 996 / 997.
Longest i gone is 6 weeks w/out starting - car started no problem. Once i went 3 weeks but left aux port on for iphone. drained battery - i charged up- no problem w/ battery even after multiple cycles start/dorm etc.

Looked at Oreiley and autozone.
Duralast fits which is available at autozone. Vent hose fits.
Oreileys configurator is wrong. Their brand Super Start Platinum is too long, 14 inch lenght.
The max lenght the tray can take is 12 inch battery inorder for the clamp to work.

I recommend Voltphreaks, ridiculously lightweight, excellent quality, just as reliable as anything else out there if not more so; they have a safety cutoff so it could have enough juice to start the car. Fantastic feature.
Whenever a client wants to save 40 lbs (depending on what we’re replacing it could be even more savings), we use Voltphreaks exclusively in our facility.

Huge difference in how the front of the car feels. It actually sits higher in front now, need to adjust that.
Did require me to make a bracket for it. Very easy though.

Voltphreaks makes several models. Which model does everyone use for a car a street car?

I keep the car on a tender when it's parked most of the time, but I intentionally left it unplugged for a few days to see what would happen... Took it out for a short drive, stopped off for a cars and coffee then went to a brunch, took it back in and parked it for a few days with alarm on. It didn't trigger the low voltage shutoff, and the interior lights seemed brighter/car turned over stronger than it ever did with the previous Bosch, which is ~2 years old.
My experience is very limited right now, but so far I'm quite happy with it. My previous posts indicates installed day before, but it should read as "finished installing"- I built my battery bracket to permanently mount it after the test was done, but had the battery in the car since late last week. If it couldn't start the car after my test, I was going to keep the Bosch in for road trips and swap this one in for track, but this battery seems to do it all.

I went with Braille battery - bought the GUR model GUR - (updated model is the G30 I think) about $500

Had it for several months - works great. My car has an aftermarket stereo, and is usually driven at night - no issues.
Weighs 5 lbs. Hard to beat the cost/savings ratio.

But at the same time, when spending that much on a battery, may as well go lighter... 8.8 lbs is doable in much cheaper batteries, and I've read many success stories with the 750 so I figure why not save another 3 lbs off the wrong side of the car

easier to find 100 ways to save 1 lb than 1 way to save 100 lb was my thought process

Hey Tye. Count me in for group buy!
The reason many go with the 750 is Rennline makes a mount for it. The mount is a very nice machined aluminum piece that fits the 997 battery tray perfectly. Josh
