[QUOTE=sin911;14377825]Ok, I agree with the 997 GT shifter not being the smoothest... Or any kind of smooth
Well, I remarked about this before ever owning a 997GT and was told I was mistaken! Having owned non-synchro antique cars, timing shifts do make the gearbox go into gear easier but who has time for that!

Are you saying some RPM's make it easier to shift? Please explain, I'd like to know more.
My biggest issue is the classic gears 2-3 shift

997.2 RS is a pleasure to drive the sh*t out of it while very robust.
It feels like a keeper, first car ever for me.

I'll never sell my 3.8 RS. I purchased the car while I resided in the states and it is sitting in storage as I'm not allowed to currently bring the car in to my residence country of Australia.
The import laws are due to change in 2018 and I might be able to bring her in, but I will still keep her and enjoy driving her when I visit the states. If it were any other car I would have sold it looong ago.

DK7, I sent you a PM. Since we are all Porsche guys here, let me post a few "win" points for the Speciale:
1) Sense of occasion entering, and being inside, the car - no contest. You can spend a couple of minutes just enjoying the interior of the Speciale, while the Porsche's interior is meant to just get you focused on your driving. Spartan/purposerful compared to the Ferrari.
2) Low to medium speed driving - I am convinced that Ferrari has a guy whose only job is to optimize the emotionality in low speed driving. Even at just 60 kph, in RACE mode, the sounds, tactility, and feedback from the car bring the smiles. You need to be at much higher speeds before the Porsche catches up.
3) The body/external design - see for yourself.
4) Build quality - the Porsche wins for long term robustness in build quality, BUT the F cars have come a long way, especially in initial quality. I have had ZERO problems with the Speciale from new. On the other hand, every contemporary Porsche I have bought has had initial issues and recalls, including the RS 4.0.
Cannot go wrong with either car, and each car has a special place of their manufacturer's lineage.

Quality has catched up already with the new ferraris compared with 8-10 years ago.
My Speciale would you believe has NAV, cruise control, garage door opener, Sirius and backup camera.
Buy what you can afford right now then add one after the other.
