Default The Prodigal Son Returns...!

Well it brings me great joy to return to the brand after a 5 year hiatus! Sedan needs, lack of garage space, etc...doesn't matter why I left...but I'm back - The prodigal son returneth!

This is my 3rd 911 (had a 997.1 and 997.2). Almost bought a 993...but it just didn't move me like the 997. Yes...even drove 991.. again, loved it, but chemistry is hard to explain sometimes...it has a way of speaking another language that only you can translate!

Behold - Pics of the 2006 S, 18k miles, full leather, Porsche crest, etc. I added:
-escort 360 hardwired
-blacked out decklid emblem
-blacked out stone guard
-oz racing wheels
-fister muffflers

Next up...maybe intake...definitely need to fix the whine in the aftermarket stereo (don't really listen to radio so I may return with original pcm).

Few other pics that helped contribute my return to Porsche. Work trip that re-routed me to Stuttgart...ahh yes, when in the motherland, your mind plays tricks on ya. Justification, yearning, desire, passion reignited, there is no other substitute!

Finally, I'm selling my 19" wheels if anyone interested. Just pm...!

Thanks to all for helping me make an informed decision!

Tom

Do the GT3 TB, IDP competition plenum intake, and tune along with the Fisters.

Awesome. I feel similar to yourself regarding 997.1 vs the new 911

In your own words, why?

Like the wheels. Really modernise the look.

I am drawn to throttle responsiveness and the "quirkiness" of the raw experience. Raw is defined as...flighty, a bit of a bouncy front end, smell of engine, nimble, and perhaps a bit of a fear-factor around the need to control this car around a bend. 991 feels different in all those criterion mentioned above. Still good...but not quite the same.

Sounds weird...but perhaps a bit of pavlov's dogs kicking in...but the 991 interior smells different than the 997. I really like the smell!

Also, for 20K delta in price, I felt more comfortable that the 997 is on the back end of the depreciation bell curve.

The stereo whine is most likely a bad ground. Should be an easy fix.
