I got the OEM ones from Suncoast, unsure of the thickness, but I think 8mil is standard. 14mil sounds really thick, might be more noticeable.
Those look terrible
MagnaGrafik stone guards are nice too.

I've installed a few sets of these now, on a couple of my cars. I've recently switched over to the Xpel version, from the OEM ones I used before. They're a bit less thick, but they're nicely shaped, and the thinner material -- or maybe just the Xpel material itself -- is much easier to apply. It seems somehow more clear, too. The OEM stone guards are a PITA to get perfect. The Xpel go on very easily. Not sure if the thicker OEM ones are any more protective, but since I already trust Xpel to cover the whole front half of my car, I was very happy to "upgrade" to their stone guards. Anyway, just adding feedback here. Good luck.

The MagnaGrafik look fine and they are an homage to the classic look. They are available in matte or glossy black or CF look. They are easily removable for cleaning. The OEM vinyl yellows quickly, especially on white cars.

I have the MagnaGrafix CF speedster style over the OEM clear.
Over two years on the car and still look new, they don't come off at high speed, remove them for washing the car and clean them with 303....$99 when I bought them.

Any chance you could snap a few pics and post 'me up here? I just had the front end of my black 2010 C4S Cab re-sprayed with a full front Xpel film wrap. I'm now doing a Level 1 paint correction on the back end of the car and I need to do something with my stone guards as they are now the worst-looking part of the car! I'd love a quick and simple solution where I could just throw these magnetic pieces over the stock SG's so I don't have to pay for the additional removal & cleaning cost just to stick another pair on top of the old SG's....
I've heard the CF looks pretty good, but I'd love to see how yours looks if you can snap a new pics
