Default 997.2 Cabrio - Rennline cell mount / bose sub removal

I'm trying to install the Rennline cell phone mount on my passenger side, but I'm stuck at first base.

The instructions say to remove the bose sub using a screw inside the vent, but I can't find one.

Can anyone point me to instructions for remove the bose sub in a 997.2 cab?

Thanks!

I think the vent pops off and the screw is beneath it.

I just did this. The vent thing does pop off. Just pull that bottom tongue straight out and it pops right off. The screws are then exposed and easier to access than in the video where you have to find them in the carpet.

Thanks guys. I was able to get the vent off, which exposed the screw.

Then I got to the two torx screws shown in the video...but I still couldn't get the main trim piece off. The issue (at least as it appears to me!) is that the sub blocks the ability to pull the trim piece fully out.

I unscrewed one big torx screw that was connecting the sub to the rest of the console, but even then, the sub wouldn't budge.

Bottom line, it seems like the sub needs to be fully removed.

any ideas?

Thanks!

I don't recall removing the sub. The video is accurate in there are two sets of screws of different sizes. Once those are removed the trim piece can be pulled forward as they describe.

Thanks. I'll give it another try.

The issue comes around the 3:40 mark in their install video (
). I can't "wiggle it free" because the sub is in the way.

If I could pull the trim piece straight back, that would do it, but it didn't seem to be working on my first try...

Awesome! this is exactly what I needed. Thank you!

It wasn't obvious (visible) that there were clips holding it in after I got the big torx screw out.

I'll give it a shot tonight. Thanks again.

kcheves - that did it!

Thanks to everyone for the help. After the sub moved out an inch, it was easy to get the panel out and back in.

Thanks!
