Was going to wait until the end of the day to update, but plugs in and mufflers on. Started car and it sounds beautiful.

I would guess it took about 8 hours to change the plugs from start to finish.

Still have to clean the inside and I have a couple more panels to polish and wax.

Tools needed to change plugs:

Nice.

Since you're now a DIYer, while the wheels are still off, replace the little tapered head metric screws that secure the rotor to the wheel hub with stainless versions. You'll thank me when it's time for your brake job.

I bet next time you can do the plugs in half that time

I am glad you got some time to bond with your car. I have said this from the beginning and will continue to say it... You do not need to remove the mufflers in order to get to the spark plugs. Between the mufflers and the cylinder heads theres at least a good 5 inches of space to work in. With the proper universal joint adapters and extensions, getting all spark plugs is easy.

Yup, no need to touch the exhaust system to replace the plugs.

I just looked again. No way. Next time including muffler removal, it will be a 1.5 hour job. And never struggle.

It seems to me that 997.1 plug replacement does not equal 997.2 plug replacement.

With the mufflers removed you can literally swap the plugs in 15 minutes - most of that time is getting the heat shield out.

Hahaha, hilarious, this is exactly why I don't DIY. I always can get stuff apart but going back together, I usually try to tighten something just another quarter turn and end up breaking or stripping something. Good for you though, there is material enough here for a stand-up routine if you decide to quit your day job. I especially like step three "regret my decision to stay in Ohio."
