Default OBD II

Does anyone know where to get the active pin diagram for the OBD II port for a 08 997 4s. I am trying to install a shift light that plugs into the port and having problems.

Thanks for any help.

OBD II schematic is not going to help you. There's no way to tap that for a shift light on the 997. You have to tap the signal out for the coils directly from the harness running from the ECU for this. Check out Toms build thread from TPC on the GT3 forum. He did this and explains everything.
Im doing the same.

NW, Thanks for the information and I will look it up. The reason for looking for the layout of the port is I have a shift light from Speedhut that plugs into the OBD II port and is supposed to work and is not. They asked if I could verify the pin layout and also the protocol. They think the protocol is OBD II CAN (J1979).

I will save you a ton of time and tell you to return it. It's not going to work unless you tap the ECU.
Here is the DIY thread for installing on a 997.1 ECU:

And here's where he tried to use a can bus converter like you have and it didn't work.

Default I did it

I installed an Ecliptech by tapping into the ECU for the trigger and the fuse box for the 12V and ground. I found a diagram for the ECU wiring if you need it. May have already posted it. Search for Ecliptech. I really like it. The first light comes on at 3K rpm. Helps me avoid over revving until oil is hot.

Thanks to both of you and I will move on to tapping the ECU.
