Default H7 headlight conversion to LEDs

I bought myself some h7 LEDs to convert my halogen lamp into LEDs. Unfortunately, upon opening the headlight housing the space is way too small to accommodate the led bulb with the cooling fan. Has anybody been successful in converting this h7 halogen into led and having good light output?

Wow--I applaud you for trying something like that. Is there any way to adjust things to gain some space? Photos?

It will be interesting to hear if you're able to make it work. I did this conversion on my 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 truck. Even on a vehicle as huge as the truck, the fit of the bulb with the cooling fan was tight.

Overall, the lighting performance of the LEDs is better than the OE halogen bulbs. Most LEDs are in the 5,000K or 6,000K range, which is a bit higher than I like. My truck has projector headlights, like the 997. Even with projectors, the light beam pattern isn't perfect. It's still an upgrade, but there are a few dark spots in the pattern. The cooling fans are loud too - you can definitely hear them from the cabin when you stop at a light or a stop sign.

Good luck fitting them in the 911. I hope you find a way to make it work.

H7 Morimoto 2Stroke

I did a quick look through the same company I bought through for my HID retrofit. They offer this product for LED but I would contact them to talk about fitment on the 911. I had a hard enough time fitting all the accessories in the housing for the HID. With the extension cap for the cooling fan I cant imagine where you would find enough real estate to fit everything comfortably.

I was curious about how it would fit as well.. Even if the extension cap could seal the unit I cannot imagine how the light would slide back into the car.

Why not get an led H7 with metal braid for the heat sink instead of cooling fan. I have done thin on a number of cars.

Have you tried it on 997.2 light assembly? How would the driver unit fit?

I found these on Amazon. They do not need an external driver unit so that takes out one thing you gotta stuff in the light socket of the car.
