Default Thinking of selling my '05 C2S

I've attempted to write this post several times over the past week, and I can't believe I'm even contemplating it, but I'm considering selling my car. I do love it, and it is in fantastic shape and it has the options I want (full leather, sport adaptive seats). The reasons are we are a 2 person household with 3 cars and We split time between NYC and Long Island. I am OCD about maintaining all the vehicles and caring for 3 at a time is becoming tiresome. Lastly, I don't think I am using the 997 to its fullest. I've ripped through all the country backroads on Long Island and recently did a drive up to Montreal via Vermont and also drove out to Hershey for the rainy swap meet. I'm at the point where I don't know where else to go locally and any track is many hours away from eastern Long Island. Also I am just not an aggressive driver on public roads. The car drives great but I think I need to move onto new things. Maybe it is my age and I am in a selling off phase instead of an acquisition phase, because I am also considering selling off my watch collection at the moment as well and just keeping the 2 most important pieces.

In terms of pricing, what is a good ballpark? It is a 2005 C2S in seal gray with 37k miles with an engine replacement at 24k miles for bore scoring (a year before I bought it with 26k miles). So the new engine has the improved IMS bearing and only 13k miles on it. I've done. Blackstone oil analysis and the reports show an engine properly breaking in since 27k miles.

Thoughts?

Just break down and get those new tires you have been wanting.

Already did. I put new Bridgestone S-04's on a few weeks ago.

There are some really nice roads out near Cape Cod, but if your over the car that can't be remedied.

Sounds like one of the other 2 cars needs to go.

I would generate a list of mods you would like to do. Space them out 6 months a part and start. It will keep u engaged.

otherwise calc the monthly carry cost of your car? Is it that much more than your electric bill....

Good points COSANCHEZ. One thing I liked about the 964 I used to own was tinkering with the car: valve adjustments, installing shocks and springs, replacing oil lines etc. The 997 I have is in perfect shape and doesn't need anything preventative or maintenance wise.

Mid-life crisis, in reverse? Maybe?

Options and details really effect 997 C2S values... If you provide a vin we can run a build sheet.

Presumably a manual, not tip?
Sport chrono?
Black interior?
Other options?

The replacement engine is a +/- for many.

I looked at a higher mile manual 2005 C2S (but was pristine shape) that was $32K at a dealer about a week ago. I'd say yours might bring $40K, maybe a bit more RIGHT NOW as the market is pretty hot and if you find the perfect buyer.

I've thought about it and decided to sell the car. I have already received a few PM's about it and I am speaking with someone local to me and if it doesn't work out then I will post a formal listing in the For Sale section.

The Car is a seal gray, black interior 2005 C2s with 37k miles and has a 6-speed manual with factory short shifter, Sport Chrono, Cargraphic 'mild' catback exhaust, Sport Adaptive seats, full leather interior, leather center console, Porsche Emblem embossed in the seat headrest (Woo Hoo!). The car had a new engine installed at 24k miles due to bore scoring. The work was done by Pepe Porsche in Larchmont and I have the paperwork.

I've also changed the gear oil to PTX and installed some homemade front radiator grills.
