Where did you buy the pistons?
That is great! You're going to love it. The Pistons were from LN engineering.

Not a single problem. I had the car smogged 2 days after picking it up.

So what is the cost of this conversion? And before anyone responds with, "if you have to ask you can't afford it," -- true. I can't. But i'm still really curious to see by how much.

He stated in an earlier post. I'm curious to what the dyno results will be.

As I mentioned before, we found quite a bit wrong when we opened it up. After repairs and opting to check all the boxes with options, it ended up around 27k.

The break in is half done. Once it's finished the first stop will be the dyno!

3.6 -> 4.0 Sounds like a great upgrade. I have a 3.8 997.2 C2S. Has anyone heard of a shop converting this to a 9a1 engine to a 4.1 or 4.2? It might be a point of diminishing returns.

Is there any difference in end state with a 3.6 to 4.0 vs 3.8 to 4.0 ?

Congrats! I have an 05 C2S and I'm considering the same 4L conversion. I'm very interested to hear your insights on comparing the characteristics between your GT3 engine and the built 4L engine. Responsiveness, power delivery, high RPM etc... I have the option right now to either swap in a GT3 engine/transmission or build out my motor (ignore financial reasoning ) and was wondering which would be the more exciting route.

Also curious.

The 3.8 to 4.0 may have higher potential. 3.8 heads are different. Maybe intake, software etc..

How much different? Idk.

I don't believe the 9a1 engine has been bored to that size.

The end result is about the same.

I would say they're very comparable in terms of performance. The biggest difference being that the Carrera is easier to drive every day.

According the guys at LN, the end result is almost identical.
