That looks great. I might even go a bit wider.
Question. Is there any space between the original side sill and your custom sill to allow water drainage? I'd be worried that water pooling up at the joint could (over time) be an issue.
If not, could your method still work if a rubber bushing or nylon washer were used between the custom sill and the original side sill to allow a couple mm gap for drainage?

Good question...
I had the same concern. I think it's good though. The mounting is done with rubber well nuts. They cover up the existing hole entirely and have a minimum of 3mm spacing between the splitter and the actual body of the car. The existing holes actually have more gap from front to back. The front requires no washers, the back requires 2 so it sites flush.
When I washed this weekend, it seemed to have good water run off. That could have been the rake of the suspension though.
I typically use a blower to dry the car which should eliminate any stagnant water also.

I'm wondering if profiling the edge with an electric router and a round over bit would make it look even better than it already does. One might also be able to shape it like, say, the splitter sold by Go Tuning that another poster referenced. Then again, maybe the ABS plastic material doesn't take well to either. Might be worth a try.
