Where are you getting your oil filters?

Pelican parts has the Mahle Oil filter kit for $16. If you want OEM, that's a whopping $22.

Mann and Mahle are (2) aftermarket filters which have been used for many years on Porsches without issues. Just be certain to use an oil with the proper ZDDP levels and do oil change intervals that are no more than 5000 miles or one year (whichever comes first) and you'll be fine.

Oreillys has Wix 57211 oil filters but you have to ask because they keep them in the back. They don't keep them stocked out on the shelves for some reason.

Please do not use a cheap oil filter. I have personally had two 911's come in our shop that had zero oil pressure with engines knocking. Both filters collapsed and cause no oil to get to the engine. I remember one was a cheap wix filter and the other was a similar cheapie from Napa or Pep Boys. Both engines survived but it could have been way worse. I recommend a Mahle filter.

This is a Wix filter pulled from a 2007 Carrera S that came in for a engine knock and zero oil pressure warning. I think issue was the Wix filter did not have the inner plastic cage that the Mahle and most other filters have to keep it from collapsing.

I have used the Wix without problem but now use Mann or Mahle. Both can be had for around $10 from Ebay so there is really no reason to use anything else unless you don't have time to wait for the filters to be shipped to you.
