I recently picked up a 2012 911 GTS Cab w/ 12k miles and couldn't be happier! I can't speak to the value prop vs a 991 S, but she's an absolute JOY to drive.
I also was looking for a 991 C2S when a 2012 GTS cab with 14k miles showed up at my dealer could not resist . Supper happy . I feel it's a very unique car love the steering and the feel of the 997 gts compared to 991 c2s. It's a keeper

Wow...l've never seen the GTS in Guards Red. Black hat/black wheels...it really pops...beautiful machine. Mine is white. I love it. My wife rolls her eyes when I go to the garage just to stare at it.

You should walk in the room where she is at and start staring at her until she says something like "do you like what you see?" at which point you snap out of it and say "I was just day dreaming about my GTS".
As a lot of members on this forum know, I have been searching for a GTS for about 7 months now. My perfect one is owned by another member, and he will only consider selling to me if he finds his PERFECT 991.1 GTS. So I kept searching and ended up finding the perfect 997.1 2009(updated interior) turbo
All the options, exact color combo, even freaking carbon fiber illuminated door sills! oh and about 15k worth of mods I would have done myself anyways. Did I mention the 4 more years of Fidelity Platinum care I am getting with it, or the brand new Ceramic Coat/Xpel post paint correction its getting right before I pick it up?
hold out for a GTS, but if you find your number 2 choice(I may get flamed for saying a 600hp/580ft-lbs of torque turbo is 2nd) then jump on it. these cars are getting rare.
Personally, screw depreciation. Drive the car. I am putting 3000 miles within 5 days of picking up the car since I am driving it from Texas to North Carolina via Florida and Tennessee...then going up to Annapolis, MD and possibly NYC just to go back to NC where I live.

Finally, congrats!!!
Bummer you weren't able to snag this in time when you started looking.
I have just purchased a 2011 997 GTS in whitest has a leather interior and 5 stud 19" black alloys.I have just put it in sport plus mode and the performance was akin to my 996 turbo when I floored it.....astonishing the sound was a lot better so I am extremely happy with this car which like the 993 will definitely become a true 911 classic.
I'm starting the search for a manual transmission car again after a 3 year hiatus.
One of the cars I'm considering is a 997, possibly a GTS version. I've spent years on the 991 forum, so I'm pretty well versed in them, but don't know as much about 997s.
I had a few questions I'm hoping you can help me with:
Value: When new, GTS models seem to be considered a pretty good "value" because it would be priced less than a comparable S model with equivalent options. Is that still true today in the used market? Or, have market forces essentially negated that "value" making an S with performance options a materially better value?
On the depreciation front, would it be fair to say that a GTS is likely to depreciate a lot less than a equivalent S if I'm only adding less than 4K miles/year?
On 997s, do the GTS models get the wider (Carrera 4) rear hips like the 991 GTS?
Thanks in advance.
I traded in my 2009 C2S for a 2012 GTS two years ago and I can sell my GTS for what I paid for it. I was offered a 991C2S at that time for the same price. The GTS is a special car and relatively rare:
I have a 2012 C4GTS, picked it up in 2015 with only 5k mi on the clock . I put 20k on it on less than 2 years, I think that means mine is worth less than when I purchased it lol. I'm not trying to save it for an investment and I don't see myself selling it unless it no longer runs. The car is PDK, I haven't really ever seen another C4GTS for sale so I'm not sure the manual to PDK ratio for AWD GTS cars. I was hooked on it after the first minute of driving it.
Does anyone actually know the production numbers of the 997 GTS? I seem to remember seeing numbers somewhere but was unclear if that was worldwide or US only.

Is it manual or PDK? I think you have a keeper either way because white+leather+non-CL is definitely a unique build among GTS.
